I'm already looking forward to when the next Bond novel is announced. Seeing as Boyd isn't returning for a follow up, who would you want?

My choice would be Keith Ridgway who's novel Hawthorn & Child was a gritty, great British novel with some amazing characters. He's probably not a big enough 'name' for the Fleming people but would I'm sure but an interesting spin on Bond.

Like I have written elsewere, I would very much like Tom Rob Smith and Phillip Kerr to write Bond novels. Tom Rob Smith is a winner of the Ian Fleming Steel Dagger award and writer of the crime/espionage thrillers Child 44, The Secret Speech and Agent 6 set in the 50's and 60's. The novels are suspencefull and atmospheric.
Phillip Kerr is the writer of the Bernie Gunther-novels. Set mostly in the murky 30's and 40's in central Europe, his novels are crime novels with some espionage and can be called crime noir-novels with a biting sense of humour.
