MI6 Office

Hey, I really like it that we're going back to the old MI6 office in Skyfall, I also liked the modern MI6, but the old one is more Bondish in my opinoin. But did someone also saw that they're always different in every film?

I dont understand why they changed MI6 in QOS, it looked really silly, even if that technology does exist. it seems every film lately has had that aesthetic of everything is white and shiny like an apple product. It may have worked in Star Trek and Oblivion because they're Sci-fi films, but it just didn't fit with Bonds world, which is why im also so happy they went back to the old MI6 building in Skyfall.

Maybe this sounds strange and I think this will never happen, but I hope M will be smoking a pipe in the next movie.

Yes that's true, it's very ugly, and QoS takes place right after CR, and it's so different. So or they're in a new building in QoS or they changed it very fast.

As a resident Trekkie on the forum, I would like to respectfully point out its a look that does NOT always work in Sci Fi. In fact its becoming something of a Cliche. Clean smooth panel displays look high tech, but blanched clinical white only works in Sci Fi as a reflection of a medical, or virtual reality environment.
The bridge and corridor sets to the Abramsprise are as abhorant to me as a Trekkie, as is the "Sponsored by Apple" MI6 sets are as a Bond fan. The elegant simplicity of the Enterprise D bridge in Star Trek The Next Generation and M's office (Bernard Lee or Judi Dench) from Dr No - CR-06 is the way to go. I think SF shows its a lesson learned with the best possible outcome.
I will miss the Vauxhaull Building in future films though.
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

not to derail the topic but I actually totally agree with you on how the shiny white aesthetic has become a cliche in Sci-fi, all my favorite sci fi films and games have real, lived in looking environments that often resemble submarine interiors. like Blade Runner, Alien, and the Dead Space game. Im not a big star trek fan but the new Enterprise look is ridiculous, I just dont buy that its an actual working environment let alone a ship. Opposed to the Nostromo in Alien or the USG Ishimura in Dead Space that look and feel like someplace people would actually live and work.

It's very nice to have Gassner back for Bond 24. However, I still have no clue whatsoever what he tried to accomplish in QoS. It should be very nice for Bond 24. Very nice.

I hope that they will stay in the MI6 how it end in Skyfall, like it looked in the old film. Maybe for other sets he could do a good job, if he just keep MI6 like it is now.

For the people who like MI6 while Brown ends and Fiennes begins, I made a video how it looks in the FRWL-game. Also in Octopussy you see the orther side, were normaly the camera is. Game Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tg-HhkWBZ6c&feature=c4-overview&list=UUhmWhEYMZwYPAv78-ZfMVnw

I wonder if they would keep the new office but put it in the MI6 building that has been used since GoldenEye and sort of combine the two eras of James Bond. I've always thought that would be pretty cool.

I definitely think they should keep LEGOLAND as it makes the series feel as if it actually is happening, but definitely have M's office somewhere in the middle of the building. It seems really silly to me to have the head of Mi6's office located right on the outside with all those widows and exposed area!
