This is blowing one's own trumpet (well, it's a double bass really though the principle still stands) but some things are worth mentioning: my band will be performing at the Commonwealth Games in July.
To be precise, we'll be playing during the Marathon on July 27th between 10am and 1pm GMT. Weather permitting, you might catch a glimpse of us on TV.
That is good news...are you running the course with them whilst you play ?
No parachutes, I'm afraid. And no, we'll be standing still while the runners go by... at least that's the plan! The TV will be on the runners, of course, but you'll probably hear and/or see us in the background.
This is weather permitting. If it rains heavily (as it frequently does in these parts) the plans will be forcibly altered . And if there any young groupies I'll send them your way, BT.
But at least some stagediving? :v
As for the groupies? I don't care for hot mindless chicks with perfect bodies and short skirts

Sorry I've not been as frequent a flyer here in the last few weeks.
My company announced it was going to close the business area I work in, would have meant the loss of 23 jobs, but they offered the business to me and a colleague as an MBO. Been a struggle but we bought the business between us (a financial printing/communications company, based in London). Gonna be a lot of hard work as I'm now joint MD and also full-time sales, but the good thing is we kept everybody's job. -{
So my posts might be a bit erratic until normal service is resumed. :007)

After being an employee of a printing company for 15 years, my then Boss had suffered two hearts attacks and was in bad health, so I approached him and offered to buy the business off him, which he duly accepted. Here we are 14 years later and still going.
Its the best thing I ever did, even though there has been sleepless nights and some tough decisions to make.
And best of luck AOS on your new direction on life. -{
