Aquanaut might be my fave ever owned - so much so I would love to get the GMT version. Def the most comfortable watch ive ever owned by far! Cant take it off at the moment

Did you read about Jockes new watch over on the various watch forums?

Nice little adventure worth a read for watch fanatics - here is the link

I agree that the Aquanaut is very comfortable - but in all details it has been cheapened to not cannibalize the Nautilus ;)

I did read Jocke's Dornblüth jorney. He's a very kind chap and I know him personally. However, I don't share his passion for Dornblueth and Glashütte Original.

But that's just my modest personal opinion ;%

One of the best watch journeys I've seen. Very nice.
All roads eventually lead to Patek.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of the Nautilus, for the sheer reason that it looks too much like a cleaned-up Offshore.
If I were to buy one, it'd be a white dial, 5170G.

Out of all the Omegas that you owned, which one was the most comfortable/wearable piece?
You should've kept the Hulk. You could make a killing in about 50 years or so :)).

Yeah the 5170G is very nice!

Regarding Omegas I prob liked the 2500 series Planet Oceans the best and think its a shame how Omega have over exploited them since

Aqua Terra was nice but far too thick for a 38.5mm watch

SPECTRE Seamaster is cool but again a tad chunky (my taste regarding size has done a complete U-Turn lol)

No doubt I will grab another Sub at some point!!!!!

Beautiful watches along your journey there Welshboy.
Do all roads lead to patek philippe? For some it's the only watch brand, my Uncle was a very wealthy man, he never wore a watch because the only watch he wanted was a pp and the one he wanted he simply couldn't justify the price. I've never discovered which watch it was? I do recall him saying it was 36k and that was 30 odd years ago.

Now that is a journey Welshboy! What is it men and their watches :D
So long as you are happy at the current destination then all is good. I agree with your comments, to me the PO2500 (QOS) is the perfect watch and always will be and its so versatile. I like the look of the 8500 series PO/ AT etc but the thickness is a bit of a bugger when you wear French cuffs as i tend too. For some reason never have any issue with the 2500 PO or SMP I am guessing due to thickness. Most of my collection is now OOO wear due to the afore mentioned.

Enjoy the current collection in good health!

    Cheers :007)

It is indeed, I'm not massive fan of such ornate work on a watch though I appreciate the craftsmanship of it. For my part I couldn't get along with the recent po chronograph Ti with the orange, just not me at all,
As for most comfortable omega, it has to be the smp.
Commandant, you may be correct, what is the current value of that watch?

This PP is worth USD 2.5 mn!
I'm honestly not a big fan.

I think when you get into that level of stuff its more about works of art and craft rather then watches you want to wear :)

Make sure it is white gold, otherwise it's too flashy.

I would've opted for roman numerals but it still looks very good.
    Well done, VM!

You're not alone on clashing materials, I remember seeing someone on a fashion forum saying that he could not wear gold cufflinks because it would clash with his platinum wedding ring.
I can't remember a female example but Bond did it in TND, with his steel Omega, two-tone cufflinks and bronze belt.

I do agree with the point made on the fashion forum. I'm not a huge fan of gold anyway but do not wear any of my gold cufflinks as they clash with my Omega.

If I get married again it'll have to be a platinum ring.

I am agree with both if you. The two tone kind of drives me mad. Audrey Hepburn had three wedding rings in rose, yellow, and white gold so she always matched.

I'm the same, just don't like yellow gold on me, Mrs Coop likes white gold, and I opted for a platinum ring second (and last) time round and as all my watches are stainless steel with one titanium I also never wear my gold cufflinks.
I've fixed my misty camera issue on my mobile, so here is the new addition which will be hogging my wrist for a while

I cannot wear leather straps in my watches because if I'm wearing say, a brown belt and walnut shoes, a black leather strap would look out of place. The same would go if I were to be wearing a brown strap and a black belt and shoes.
Also, a brown strap is the most non-versatile one out there. Plus side is that you'll look a bit like Mathis.

Case has also changed. It is symetrical now compared to the slightly thicker right-hand side on the older models. It is growing on me, I'll have a black one :)

I honestly think they should keep a "classic line" I quite like the new dial in a more tool watch capacity. It looks good with a nato as in the golf editions and with the rope twine silicon strap but I prefer the old style teak / tuxedo stripe dial. Im well acquainted with boats and teak decking and the new dial does not represent them, it looks more like the bark on a teak tree. The new symmetrical case is fine on a dresser watch but leaves the crown vulnerable. The crown side of the case has been getting less meaty since the first change back in 2012. A classic line in my opinion would also feature an smp with wave dial and a classic po in black.
