Yes, in the meantime, Vacheron is part of Richemont.
Back then when I've visited them and picked up the watch in Geneva, they where independent and owned by Yamani.
Fun-Fact: They where located in a modern building not far away from Rolex HQ.
Their entire production occupied 1 1/2 levels of that building, 8 levels have been occupied by "Rolex Emballages" (Boxes)....

A while ago, I suggested that Daniel Craig had been photographed wearing a 2500 series Omega Aqua Terra (ie the model before the Skyfall one). The original post is below, and it's number 2,362 in this thread. Well, I have recently come across photos of Craig at the premiere of The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, the CGI film in which he voiced the baddie. I think this particular photo shows the watch quite well, and I think it is definitely the 2500 series Aqua Terra I mentioned previously:
I don't know if I'm onto something here, or if I'm talking nonsense, but I've been looking at some of the pictures of Daniel Craig from the SPECTRE premiere in Mexico, and I think he might be wearing an Aqua Terra from the 2500 series (like this: https://www.omegawatches.com/watches/seamaster/aqua-terra-chronometer/25038000/), rather than the latest Master Coaxial version he wore in the film. There are almost no pictures where you can definitely tell (though more on that later), but I have noticed what seems to be a lack of polished centre links on the bracelet, absence of the crown guards you get on the newer models, the "sunburst" effect of the dial that I have seen in pictures of the older Aqua Terra (I've never seen a blue one "in the metal") and what looks like a white date window, which is a feature of the 2500 blue model. Here are some links to some pictures:
Why are those crown guards so pointy?
And that insert looks strange, too
What have you noticed about my Watch Higgins ,ie had this watch 18 years it came from watches of Switzerland in Bond Street And serviced by Rolex at their Bexley work shop and lately by Rolex at their Kings Hill in Kent fortress
... the more I am reading about Grand Seiko, the more I am getting hooked.
Never ever thought considering a Quartz Watch in that price region, but the following is just amazing to read:
first of all, thank you for using the correct name to address me -{
You are right, that the visual concept of the shown GS is very similar to the AT.
And you are also correct that I don't like the AT a lot to put it mildly.
With the AT which is quite a new model, Omega just jumped on the bandwagon of generic Rolex Air King clones imo.
There is not much that sets the AT apart from all competitors - and here is the difference why I like the shown GS:
First of all the GS is less than 1/3 of the price of the AT while having the much nicer dial and particularly hands.
The main reason why I have mentioned said GS was the fact that I could get excited for a Quartz-Movement - which I thought was unthinkable. If you read Jack Forster's excellent article about the watch and in particular about the movement, you'll see that this Quartz movement is absolutely high-End - with lots of fine and clever details that show an absolute dedication to their concept. This is not "just" a Quartz movement!!
As an added bonus, this amazing High-Tech movement comes in a "below-radar" case/bracelet package but that's not the main feature of this particular watch.

I have been collecting Rolexes for many years.
Since I joined the forum, I have added a few Omegas in my modest collection.
I'm a big fan of the Seamaster models, but I have to say that the AT models are growing on me.
I may pull the trigger one of these days.
I have to admit that the GS is also a very nice watch.
I didn't notice the quartz movement was so sophisticated.
So thanks for bringing that up to our attention -{

Either way, my compliments to your taste in watches.

Very nice indeed!!!!!!

The 5712 would have been so much better......

Nope, that would be

I love both to be honest and went for the safe option. 5712 has less of that dazzling blue / grey dial

Here it is a bit closer:
This picture, to my eyes at least, clearly shows the white date wheel lacking from the later models, as well as the symmetrical case sides and double index/indices at twelve. Interestingly, the same watch can be seen in a picture with Pierce Brosnan, here:

Other than myself and Chriscoop when I first posted this, I have not seen this particular watch discussed, so I thought it may be of interest.
The crown cuards on these watches usually look like that:

But that's still a lot of money for a Quartz watch...
Why are you so much against the Omega AT?
It looks similar to the GS watch...

Fascinating stuff. GS is criminally underrated.
