This is around the time I picked up my two 6538’s, 6536-1 and proto Comex. The Comex was the most by far at £5900, I think. It was from a really amazing antiques shop just off Bond St that was a favourite haunt of mine. It was there for years and had some amazing pieces at half the price of Royal Arcade and the usual suspects in the area like Duggans and Burlington’s dealers.

Instead of bragging around how much you BOUGHT the watches for, why don't you sell us, how much you've SOLD that Milsub for - so that everybody can see what a dumbass you really are?

I haven’t sold my milsub you dumbass, but I’m contemplating it. I sold the 6536 out of that lot.

As if selling the 6536 for less than 10k was any smarter :D

You can say that now. But back then that was a high price for one. And four times what I paid :D

Yes, I say now that this was a dumbass move :D

Totally random thought, but do you think it would ever be possible that a manufacturer could someday make a replica or continuation of the G757 from Octopussy? That watch is a real bit of fun and possibly even the Bond one with the most screentime in terms of closeups(! Maybe that or the LALD Rolex?), and with the Casio AE1200-WH being so popular as a bit of a homage you'd think it would sell well. It would be a great signature piece for the 007 store you'd think!
I know Seiko Wired made a kind of homage to link with Metal Gear Solid, but it wasn't anything like it really.

Is there a decent milanese band that is very similar to the omega (in terms of weave and general style) from a third party?

I'm surprised no one has answered your post. I'm not an expert, but I found the below link that seems informative:

Wonder how they’re going to go with the “vintage” NTTD Seamaster with the new, fairly intricate mesh bracelet? Might be tricky to get as close to the gen as that Seamaster in the video with the NTTD.

    This is a real beauty!
Very difficult to find one in good condition.
    Wear it in good health.

Almost impossible to find in this condition ;)

    Wonderful stuff! I love them.

I do think they should do a continuation of those: the Casio that nods towards it is so popular. Obviously a continuation different enough from the original as not to upset those who have one of course! Stick some 007 branding on if they want: I actually wouldn’t mind :)
    Is it a big watch?
  • CommandantCommandant Posts: 1,374MI6 Agent
    Did you buy it recently?
  • emtiememtiem SurreyPosts: 5,948MI6 Agent
So are the new Bond swatches worth getting? Are the previous ones collectible/worth anything now?

Omega have a nice little exhibition of their screen-used Bond watches on show in Zurich airport to celebrate the NTTD watch, which is fun.

Heh! Sadly I was only told about it by a mate who sent a little gif of the TND watch flashing away: I’ll try and upload it :)
He said the new one looks much nicer in person (and I rather liked it in the photos!).

Does anyone own/have owned or know much about Hamilton watches? One of their chronos has taken my eye but don’t really know too much about the brand or their pieces...even though they’ve been around for over a century.
