That one is NOS parts with a vintage movement inside (constructed and retailed by Watchco Australia ). Actually to be more precise it's Omega service replacement parts ( soon to be unavailable apparently ) built around a vintage movement .... I find it pretty amazing that Omega still makes new pieces for a 50 plus year old watch !

That is a great looking watch. What is the model number of your SM300? Don't believe I've ever seen that one.
Ah sorry didn't mean to patronize with my Watchco explanation! Nice one ! I had always struggled with the strap or bracelet solution I preferred for this one, but now it has not been off of the OEM NATO since I got it, I think it's the perfect solution...

I'll admit my interest yet ignorance on these great looking Omega's
So what's the deal with the Watchco Omega's...
Are the movements original Omega?
Will Omega service these NOS watches - or like with customised Rolex, refuse to touch them?
Are Watchco Australia the only company doing NOS Omega's?
Higgy, Submariner reference indeed...any excuse to post pictures of Mr Misty Eyes!
First of all - don't you.....
Secondly, I am happy to educate you about the proper nomenclature of the Rolex Diver watches.
Rolex invented a dive watch in the 1950s and none of these had a date. These watches have been called Submariner.
1960, the Submariner was equipped with a Date function - and it's been called Submariner Date.
So we are speaking about a Submariner Date here

Yes the movements are all original period pieces from donor watches that are otherwise dead ( all serviced and brought up to spec though ). I'm not sure what Omega's official stance is, but generally they are a lot more helpful than Rolex! But the movements are so common I don't think it's a big deal to get them serviced independently... I'm not sure what the status is with Watchco - they were supposedly going to stop doing this due to Omega cutting off supplies to non authorized watchmakers this year, but I've heard other people say it's still going to be possible to get the parts. There are also 'do it yourself' kits out there, and I've heard of independent watch makers that would do the same build for you by sourcing all the parts. Watchco just seemed like the easiest solution for me though. Here is a thread from a few months ago on them from OmegaForums, which gives some info... If you want one and can't get hold of one, keep an eye on the Sales part of this forum as they pop up from time to time...
Thanks for the pics Higgins!!! Funnily enough I was watching your favourite last month (LTK) and did wonder how the hell people knew it was the date version!!!
Nevermind about that though, we have just discovered James Bond drinks Sprite!! {[]
Welshie: As far as I remember 1988/1989 - the only Submariner (no-Date) was the 5512/13 which was recognizable by the domed plexi crystal which would have been easily identified and differentiated to the flat saphire crystal Submariner Date of that time.
14060 (Submariner with flat sapphire) was introduced 1990.

There are a few others on this thread too.
Here are some excellent pics from shooting LTK with excellent visual reference for the Submariner Date:
