I bought it from the boutique in Frankfurt, not the one in the airport.

And i was invited to the premiere of Spectre 4.11 in Frankfurt with a little JB event.
Anybody of the german fellows will be there too?

Interesting all the Omega stores I have spoken too have said they cannot believe how low key the release of this SM300 LE has been compared to the AT earlier in the year. There is no special materials for store advertising released yet to advertise it. For the AT (but strangely not for the SM300 and nothing on the radar) my local AD has a come and view (or buy event all Bond bling etc) it was a great event but I did not pull the trigger because I felt Omega would miss a trick if they did not do something with the SM300 and they did disappoint the very next month. The AT's did not fly off the shelves as the SM300 LEs maybe Omega misjudged the market and banked on the wrong watch etc. But the SM300 definitely seems understated and under sold at the shop level. As I say I nearly missed is at the airport it was so understated and low key advertised. Had I not been asked I would have walked and not seen it. Maybe that will change once the film releases who knows.

Lastly the more I think about it the more I reckon the Solden and Italy one worn could be a regular SM300 and the LE version will have been added at a later point for close up shots in studio when you think of the time this year those scenes were shot. So reality is the true SA version is probably SM300 on OEM NATO followed by SM300 LE on OEM NATO (because even JB would not wear a NATO with 007 on it) :D

What the hell who cares it's all semantics anyway I have had too much thinking time lately

    Cheers :007)

Im just wondering if the sales and reviews were good enough would they manufacture a normal SM300 with the GMT dial and lollipop hand or that would exclusively only ever be the LE. To me, being someone who shouldve pulled the trigger on the LE SM300 given how quickly they've sold I'm only ever going to be able to get my hands on the normal SM300. i only mention this because they made a big deal about a limited edition being screen accurate. but the AT in skyfall anyone could buy likewise with the planet ocean (minus the titanium) why not make both watches in this film regular watches?

!!!!!!!!!!!******* potential spoiler following on from welshies comments!!!!!!!!!**********
With welshies comment about the beginning and the end. I'm wondering if the SM300 is a cameo appearance and given the AT will then have featured in two films with it being the watch at the ending of spectre apparently, leading to the next. Maybe they've finally found a watch to keep on his wrist like the Brosnan era.

I think its just the way Omega is nowadays, they knock the models out like Haribos :D

Wouldnt suprise me if the AT in SPECTRE is discontinued come the next instalment

    I've mentioned it before:

To me it does not make much sense that Omega is producing a screen accurate model of their watches only in a Limited Edition. For them 7007 units is very small and I find it plain stupid to do something like that from a business standpoint.

What happens after the LE is sold out in some months and people still want to buy the screen accurate watch?

Omega will soon feel the desire to pull off a Billy Reid (make the screen accurate watch in higher numbers than advertised) or biting their own arses for not forseeing this situation. In that case, our LEs will become pretty desirable I say!

I agree but talking to the guys in store they reckon everyone who cannot get a SM300 LE will go for the regular version and add the NATO it's pretty much half way there as being SA if you read my previous theory :D

In reality the LE version will probably only get 2 or 3 close ups (when issued, maybe a glance to tell the time and when used in anger) other than that it will be impossible to tell which one you are looking at from a distance. Think about the PO in Skyfall pretty much as described above.

    Hey Bond 44

thanks for the info but most of it is in my opinion sales associate bullsh*t and wishful thinking.

2-3 closeups (if that's true - I've heard differently) will be enough to identify the watch for fans and even if you see it thuout the movie "from a distance" - everybody will know which watch it must be.

Look at GF, LALD and TMWTGG. Some closeups and everybody knows which watch is on the wrist, even if you can't see differences from far away (even though it was uncovered in the case of TMWTGG, that the watch from the closeup is different to the normal watch.

The only SM300 that was supplied to production was the one the Ltd Ed is based on. You won't see the regular version during the film at all, it simply wasn't used. Omega have been preparing this watch for two years plus now and they were available to production with plenty of time to spare before filming began as well as parts for modification by the SFX team. The only variation was the movement. This watch was designed and finished before the script was, and there are 7007 units ready to be bought a good month before the film is due on screen. This watch was actually in the making before SKYFALL was released. It was a very close project between EON and Omega as they have a strong relationship and they wanted to mark it.

There will be more than a few short close-up shots of this watch too, and none of them are inserts filmed at a later date, when you see the SM300 on Bond's wrist at a distance or close up, it the SM300 SPECTRE. I know that's probably going to upset a few people, but I'm afraid it's true.

Well that's true vanity for you if JB's one has the 007 logo on the NATO in the film :D

I got the SM300 LE and I am fine with that and for those who cannot get one for whatever reason the regular prod version on a NATO is a damn good alternative I would say and its £500 cheaper! The untrained eye would never know anyway B-)

I will get back in my box now

Ah so the OEM I bought back in April just before I didn't buy the production SM300 is SA then great half way there and that means the one in my new box isn't. But I have all the ingredients for a completely SA combo :D

:)) Yeah! It's so easy to make your SM300LE screen accurate by buying the non LE OEM and slapping it on :D Although, you'll need to get the bars and clasp brush finished :v
