Looks good bond44 though I won't be doing that with my po T
How have managed to get a black ceramic bezel in titanium? Or have they fitted the steel one on a Ti case?

Hi Chris
Well I would not recommend the switch for the feint hearted, thanks to Omega parts policy its not easily done trust me it was a painful experience with a high initial outlay cost wise. I bought 2 used PO's a Steel Black PO and a Blue TI one and then had the Dials and Bezels swapped professionally by my trusted service centre. They did a great job no marks at all and they look great. You cannot get a Black TI bezel so it is the steel one fitted to the Ti case but you cannot tell even close up. Suffice to say the Blue Steel has the Ti bezel fitted.
Strange thing was one of the watch guys actually said if I ever think of selling to let him know )
Crazy thing is the Steel one is actually weighing lighter now than the Ti one - go figure!!
Some call me crazy - I prefer to think it as more 'focused' on getting what I want and never taking no for an answer - if there is a will then there is a way is what I say!!
We both know it was coming but not undertaken lightly
Cheers :007)

How does that work?? I thought the Ti case and bracelet would make it significantly lighter?
On the topic of Ti cases and bracelets, has anyone had issues with scratches? Looking to invest in a Ti watch but read that scratching (and trying to fix that scratching) can be quite difficult?

There's two trains of thought one that Ti is harder and doesn't scratch that easily the other which is more accurate is that titanium is more prone to surface oxidisation so when you scratch it eventually the scratch will oxidise and blend back in, I havnt noticed much of an issue with mine over steel. Bond44 has a special brush for his but I havnt found that necessary. It also depends which grade of titanium is being used. I think omega use grade 5 titanium on their watches.

Strangely since I said I have one you are not the first to ask to be put on that list
But I will add you anyway
The weight thing is only marginal 2g but the blue TI is 127g and my new black Ti is 125g. I was expecting it to be heavier after all it still has steel bezel?
I am with Chris on scratches I have a glass fibre brush my brother in law told me about that allows you to brush surface scratches out by just brushing the metal. Had my blue PO Ti 5 years now and have had to do this once as far as I can remember. Where as my steel watches get an annual brushing if needed or immediate first aid if I get anything that bugs me.
As for Ti go for it but be ready for the weight loss some don't actually like it
Cheers :007)
My name is Bond, Basildon Bond - I have letters after my name!
All this talk is making me want a titanium weekend -{
Go on you know you want too - I know I will be, problem is which one!!
Popped into Omega store today - to say their were gob smacked was an understatement - I felt like Doris in Pretty Women - they made a big mistake by saying no you cannot do that - oh really

I'm actually really wanting a PO with black ceramic now 8-) i think there may be some watch swapping going on soon, and I'm blaming you bond44 )

Can the black bezel insert not be changed for the blue one my understanding was these just clipped in?
That is great someone did this (Ti Swap). I was going to do it about 2 years ago. However after trying on the Blue Ti PO, I decided against it due to the weight (too light for me).
I am happy you are pumped about the swap, enjoy it!

On the older SMP yes you can. Not sure it works the same way with these Ceramic and Liquid metal bezels they are molded as one I saw a short video on them in the Omega site somewhere. I wasn't going to bugger two bezels up to find out - easier just to swap them as is.

Hey you cannot blame me - I supported you through your Ti experience and I never mentioned Ceramic (well OK once). But if you have the wrists to pull it off - well why not life too short. Luckily for me 42mm is as far as I can go size wise or I would probably join you!!
But think I am done now until the next film!
Issue is would you trade the Ti for one - simple answer from me - not on your nelly!!

Thanks - well there is a Blue steel one up from grabs right now on eBay! But I know what you mean weight wise if was the driver for me just the other way around (prefer lighter). So actually main selling point on the one I created after the swap - its steel and its heavy.
Yeah really please but its not easy or cheap - that's me done mucking around now for a while.

Ahh that makes so much more sense, I thought you meant your full steel PO was lighter than your new black Ti, I was gobsmacked )
Anyway, thanks everyone for the Ti advice, I might pop in the Omega store to try one on and get a gauge for the weight, see if I like it.

Be prepared to be shocked. I was flabbergasted at the weight, I even asked the Omega dealer if he was trying to sell me a fake )
Best,
Stefan
Yep for some it may have to be an acquired taste for those used to steel. But you do get used to it and then look at your steel collection in a totally different way. I was surprised it was lighter than a full and mid sized Bond SMP - convinced they would be lighter due to dimensions etc.
But of course my project was a) Because of the Bond and SF thing they sold me a pup SA version was Ti not steel, b) Because I love the weight and Ti thing anyway and c) Because Omega said I could not do it! (and I did wait for the latest version this year thinking they would release a new (black) Ti and they did but it in grey and orange now really - give me a break!)
Cheers :007)

It's just the pictures of the watch you've built make me want a planet ocean with a black ceramic bezel!! I've had the sf le but never got on with the 007 indice. I love the black ceramic on my two SM300 Co ax's. I have always wanted a planet ocean liquid metal but one has never come my way at the right time. I've also been seriously thinking about a planet ocean good planet gmt with the blue and orange bezel recently. This watch business is like a disease, you see something think "I quite like that" then it just eats away at you until you have to do something about it. When I was waiting for nearly two weeks to get my titanium po knowing it was sat in my neighbours house was absolute murder.

Yeah - hmm I don't know what you mean!
Well if you are ever in the market for a 2500 PO LM LE let me know. Gut feeling is mine may not be getting much wrist time going forward. I am actually starting to prefer the matt 8500 bezel and two watches so similar is kind of crazy. I only bought it as I thought it would give me a lighter, thinner and close looking one to that used in SF. Reality was there was only ever one way that was going to end - as it did by me building one

Looking at your picture I think I prefer the matte as well.
I wouldn't buy your watch Bond44 I have an odd policy of not buying or selling things like watches to or from friends so that rules out using this forum to do so.

Don't worry I am not selling it just yet but they are so close in looks to make one of them a contender to go. Let's face it we know in a head to head which one wins
Currently I see the PO LM LE as an up market QOS watch for best (except I have one on them PO's too!).
Like you said this watch milarky is a sickness!

Thank you
I've got both, and think the regular is more like the Omega in terms of handle/softness/suppleness
Is the thickness of the regular version similar to the Omega one?
Thank you for your help!
Did you go for the brushed or polished?
