Quite a...unique looking timepiece.
Not really my style, but I could see why someone would like it.
The only downside for me would be the chronograph, as I believe that it overcomplicates the watch face.
It would be nice if they made a version without it.
Boo! I got my nice Diesel watch out ready for going on holiday and the strap is broken. It's a weird metal and rubber combination and according to a friend in the jewellery trade is unrepairable & no longer made to replace. :-(

Take this as an opportunity to buy yourself a real watch, not a fashion watch, and go with a nice Seiko, Orient, or Hamilton. All 3 of those brands sell affordable watches that absolutely kill the quality of almost any fashion piece. You'll be able to get pretty much any design your looking for at under $500 and get a reliable, robust Japanese or even Swiss (Hamilton) movement at the price.
My Orient keeps better time than my Speedmaster lol..but I got lucky on the Orient and my Speedy is in the upper range of the tolerated timekeeping so kinda an anomaly.
I will put my Bremont watches into the mix meet my newest acquisition the Terra Nova limited to 300 pieces. My other watch is the Alt1-ZT/51. I must say their customer service is fantastic.

Go vintage Omega. You'll be able to get an awesome piece for $400-$1000 depending on the model and condition. Just do your research ahead of time and try to get something recently serviced and as original as possible. There are sellers on Ebay that specialize in this stuff. If you don't mind that a watch has been refinished, there are some pieces that are made to look new or you could always go with a classic, untouched vintage watch and have that appeal (also, much better resale value).
70s watches in general can be had for great prices.

Take it with a pinch of salt but my understanding was that they were the same bezel, only thicker and made out of ceramic material.

I have seen elsewhere that 8500 PO bezel will fit like for like 2500 version. However, they are thicker in depth and so will sit proud above the glass. I had similar issue with PO bezel on SMP and some corrected this by using PO crystal as well but you had to swap seals etc and it got a tad complicated. You may be able to solve using this type of swap (adding 8500 glass as well) but it's untested and you need a wilko watch repairer to try it out.
Newest PO probably will not fit the watch sizes have all changed.

I'd love an Augonaut Chronograph, but they tend to go for four figure sums.

I commend you for saving as opposed to using credit. Someone on here (I think it might have been Higgins) said that if you can't afford to pay cash for a watch, you shouldn't be buying it. I saved up for my Steinhart and I'm even more proud to wear it because I paid cash!

Logically it may as the original SMP was 41mm and PO was 42mm - I am sure someone will have tried it if you did an internet search.

hey guys, i have a question on time keeping for my skyfal AT, usually how long does a good watch hold up to in keeping time, when not worn? 24 hours? 48 hours? im trying to see how long my one will keep time, once i use it for a whole day, and i put it in the cupboard ... just want to know what is a good period it will continue to keep time in the cupboard, thanks guys, sorry if the question is confusing haha
The Aqua Terra has an Omega 8500 movement which is considered to be excellent. It should have a Power Reserve of 60 hours. You can compare this to the Rolex 3135 movement found in the Submariner (48 hrs) and the new Rolex 3235 movement found in the Datejust 41 (70 hrs).
My SM300 Master runs at +5s/day. It should be still withing the chronometer range as I understand, however after hearing and reading so much praise for its accuracy it is a too much for me.

I finally managed to get my "QoS" 42mm PO on an Omega rubber strap. Don't know why it took so long, but I love it! Less bulky than the NATO strap, so it's easier to wear with cuffed shirts too.
