...How does Bond survive the Sniper shot AND the gigantic fall at the beginning of Skyfall? :s

There was an air stewardess who fell around 33,000 feet and survived. So it's
    possible. :))

He survived about 80 machine gun bullets at the beginning of YOLT, so I s'pose what happened to him in SF was just a drop in the ocean :v :))

If you're an idiot, it's because it's taken you a year to figure out this plothole, not to mention how does he get rid of the bullet and injury? It's not referenced again.

Those 60s suits were tough :))
( His death was faked to fool Bond's enemies, so I'd guess they were blanks )

I know. :)) So this probably is the biggest Bond plot hole of all time then. I thought there was some camouflaged reason revealed in the film as to how Bond survived the gunshot/fall...

The main reason Bond survived was they had to fill up the next
Two hours of the movie. :))

I thought the fall was ok. A bit unbelievable couldn't see see it happening
in Craig's other Films CR or QOS.
What makes you think this is my first time?

I'm pretty sure it was just splinters of the bullet that hit him - that's what he dug out if his shoulder. And I'd guess those TF suits are even tougher than the 60s ones (they ought to be at several grand a pop) :))

Or maybeit was one of these: :D

What he dug out of his shoulder was a splinter of the bullet of Patrice, not the one fired by Eve.

I thought he said something about the shot damaging a few of his ribs but we see him shirtless numerous times and there ain't a mark on him around that area

There is a scar on his side which you can see in the shaving scene, when Eve arrives.

I think it's completely logical. If he'd plummeted from that height into the river without being shot, he wouldn't have stood a chance. If he'd been shot twice but not fallen in the river, he wouldn't have stood a chance. But, the bullets heightened Bond's adrenalin which enabled him to survive the fall, and the water cleansed the bullet wounds and enabled him to survive the shots. It's easy. :v

Bond survives a cliffside fall and traumatic head injury in the novel You Only Live Twice, so this fall, outrageous as it is, has its roots in Fleming . . . still, I chuckle when people tell me that movies today are so much more "realistic" than old movies will present . . .

Depends upon the type of movie obviously...and in general, they probably are more realistic...unless its a superhero movie....but even the special effects are more realistic today...

This is the problem. Everybody is willing to look past all the ridiculousness of the older Bond films but the newer ones are held at such a high standard.

If the older Bond films get a pass then I think the newer ones should as well.

I would've said the same about Brosnan not that long ago but there's a lot of respect for him on this forum -{ Most people are in agreement that his films weren't a let down because of him, but instead weak scripts, bad CGI etc.

Higher verisimilitude maybe, but I wouldn't say higher realism.
