Is it me or...

Is it me or does Moonraker look a lot newer than the other bond films around its time? I'd say it looks like it was shot in the 2000s (with the exception of a couple of scenes) - the majority of the film looks newer than LTK! What do you think?

    Now that you mention it, I have to agree. Although I'm not particularly fond of MR, it is a gorgeous-looking film that holds up well from a cinematic standpoint.

    The visual aspect of Moonraker is spectacular, the wonderful locations. Help of course. -{

    Yeah me too. It's my 2nd least favourite bond film, but there's no denying that it looks very impressive (for the most part).

    Then again Moonraker had a huge budget in todays money it would be around. $110,000,000.
    about $34 million back in 1979. :)

    The money definitely shows on the screen, although not in the screenplay! :))

    It does look fantastic on Blu-Ray! Visually it's very impressive.

    YES! I'm glad someone agrees :)
    It looks even better on Blu-ray. It's mind-blowing. The shot that stands out to me is the approaching view of Drax's space station. Mixed with Barry's "Flight Into Space," this shot is beautiful.

    Not sure what you're referring to . . . to me, it definitely looks like a film made in the late 70s.

    You could also make the same argument for The Spy Who Loved Me. Ken Adam's production design was sleek and futuristic and didn't really make use of any 70's era furniture or other objects that date the movie. That plus Derek Meddings' incredible (and utterly transparent model work) and the exotic locations really help to keep those two films feeling fresh even today.
