just watched some old re-runs of the TV show M.A.S.H. starring Alan Alda,i forgot what a hilarious show
this was , the cast from Radar to major Burns are pure magic , and I laughed so much I cried

I'm lucky enough to own a poster sgd by Linville , prolly from late 70s......the last few yrs he disliked signing MASH stuff. But the crown jewel of autos would be DOS aka Charles Winchester

Great show. Don't think there's an episode I haven't seen multiple times. Only "issue" is the 1970s hairstyles in a show set in the 1950s.

I largely grew up with MASH, and I have a lot of affection for it, but I'm a bit of a heretic. Looking back, I realize that the show peaked at the time Frank Burns left; after that it seemed to become a forum for Alan Alda's politics and issues. But what really makes me a heretic is that I believe the truly great version of MASH is Robert Altman's original film, which is nothing short of brilliant.

For me the show became way too self-referential and political, drowning out the original satirical concept in favor of trying to be relevant. Time hasn't been kind to MASH the TV show and while it still pops up on late night TV and cable it remains very much a product of its time and, much like All in the Family, has failed to transcend its era.

MASH the movie on the other hand is an absolutely brilliant (and hilarious) satire with an amazing cast engaging in all manner of wacky antics. Its one of those movies that can be watched again and again and still remain fresh and entertaining with lots of memorable skits like Painless having his "performance" issues cured, Hot Lips' shower scene or the great football game.
