Felicca- Unintended shield/target ?

Felicca in The Spy Who Loved Me.
You may not know her by name, but she was sent to entertain Bond while waiting to meet with Fekkesh.
Stromberg sends Jaws and Sandor to kill anyone who comes in contact with the microfilm.
They both know Fekkesh is at the Pyramids. Jaws is already there, but Sandor is keeping tabs on Fekkesh's house.
I'm a bit puzzled by her role in the story. I assume that she is meant to distract Bond while Sandor shoots him. At the last second Bond realizes this and spins around to use her as a human shield as the bullet is fired.
However, I'm not convinced that is the correct interpretation.
Questions:
1. Was Felicca a henchmen working against Bond? If not, why would Fekkesh send Felicca to entertain Bond?
2. Was Bond the target or was Felicca the target?
3. Did Felicca even know Sandor was there? She seemed very surprised right before she died.
4. Did Bond intentionally use her as a human shield? Or was she simply shot in his arms?
Christopher Wood's novel doesn't clear this up either. She is Fekkesh's mistress trying to seduce Bond. When the gun is fired, she becomes Bonds "unintended shield" Apart from that, I still don't get it.

Bond wiki is also seems mixed up about her "Henchman" character. Why would she "warn Bond" and then "spin herself into the bullet" ?

"Bond meets Felicca when he visits Aziz Fekkesh and with orders to entertain and distract Bond, she does just that. Already, Bond is naturally suspicious of her but she soon has him enjoying 'dessert'. Not moments too soon she decides to warn him of Sandor 's plan.
Sandor is about to shoot bond but Bond catches a glimpse of Sandor and spins Felicca into the path of the bullet, piercing her spine and instantly killing her. Bond lets her body fall to the bed as he goes after Sandor.
Felicca's death is similar to that of Fiona Volpe from Thunderball , although the difference is that Felicca spun herself into the bullet whereas Volpe was used by Bond as a human shield. "

Felicca has been told by Fekkesh to "entertain" Bond in Fekkesh's absence, but that is all she has been told. She has no knowledge of microfilm or any of Fekkesh's dealings. She thinks Sandor is simply there to provide her some protection in case Bond turns nasty. When she sees Sandor aiming his pistol in her general direction, she panics and yells. Bond spins her around as the shot is fired, and she is killed. Collateral damage, somewhat like Plenty O'Toole, nothing more.
A/
On seeing the gun, she quickly worked out that the bullet would kill Bond and herself so she moved.
B/
Bond mentioned having missed dessert as he nibbled on her ear, he may of mentioned a creamy
Eaton mess. Which shocked her as she was lactose intolerant, yelling NO and pulling away.
