So, because the random guy who posted on the website that Bond 24 is going to be shot in film lives in New York, he can't know what he's talking about? I'm not defending the guy - I have no idea who he is or whether his information is right or wrong - but I don't think you can assume he's wrong just because he lives in NY.

No one said that. Jasper, who says he knows who the DP is, says that the guy on Deakins board is incorrect. As evidence, provided in lieu of naming the DP he says he knows is in place, Jasper points to the guy's post (http://www.rogerdeakins.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2977) which lists him as being in NY. Jasper, self-described knower of the actual DP for Bond 24, suggests that someone in NY likely isn't terribly in the know on a film whose lab work is being done in the UK.
But then Jasper goes on to say the film is probably on 35mm, so he's agreeing with the random guy on Deakins' message board anyway.

Got all that? )
That's exactly what I found odd, Halfy. ?:)
I thought Skyfall looked great, but I do prefer film. I think there's a subtle depth and warmth with film that you generally don't yet get with digital, although that's probably going to change. So I hope NY guy is correct and I hope Jasper is 'probably' correct.

Having said that, Bond 24 is probably going to be 35mm and I know who the DOP is. No I am not going to announce who it is.
Any chance of informing us about how you know who has got the gig ?
Just to repeat....
And didn't think it was, TDE -{
If I'm not going to announce who it is, that kind of implies that I'm also not going to say how I know who it is. But let's have a think about this. How would somebody know who the DOP is at this stage, when he hasn't been officially announced by Broccoli & Wilson? Intriguing, isn't it!

No, it doesn't IMPLY anything...forgive me but it just smells of BS...it would be like me saying I know who has been cast as the villan but refusing to say
What film or films in the series do members think had outstanding photography? All the films had good DP's, I was just wondering if anyone had any favorites...

You Only Live Twice has absolutely amazing photography--probably the best in the series.

I assume this is aimed at someone else, not me ?
