Who are we all on ajb007?

TemplarXIXTemplarXIX Posts: 33MI6 Agent
On another forum I am a member of someone recently posted a thread like this, so I thought I would start one on here as I am interested in the demographics of those who use this forum.

So who are we and what do we do?

Well I currently am the Director of a crisis management company, we deal with various things but mostly maritime security and various forensics contracts for the government. Prior to this I have been an Overseas Security Adviser for the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (this role was very James Bond), I had various jobs before that while I was in university (PhD Forensic Medicine).

I used to live in Chelsea but have recently moved out to the country.

My favorite Bond film is Skyfall and book is probably Carte Blanche (sorry...)

Anyway, look forward to finding out more about everyone.

Seb

Used to be in the Australian Air Force Cadets, both as a cadet and as an instructor. Also previously worked in the freight forwarding industry.

    Oh, all right then, :v

I'm from that wonderful part of the world, know for brotherly love, forgiveness and
    Understanding. ................................. N.Ireland, or Ulster, 8-) ( we can't even agree
    on the name ) :))
I'm a professional Photographer, Married for 21 years have two daughters, and like
Goldfinger I turn the big 50 later this year.
I got into Bond very early, hooked since before my teens, my Favourite Film, OHMSS
Favourite Book, also OHMSS ( Moonraker 2nd )
Before taking the plunge to go self-employed I did many odd and dead end jobs, but as
I always was a " pain in the butt " employee, I like to think that like Bond, I was not meant
to be a team player. :))
    And that's me in a straightjacket. ;)

I was born in and raised in Orange County, California, but I went to college in upstate New York have lived in greater New York City for the past 24 years (never actually in Manhattan though). I work in corporate development (basically internal M&A) for a global professional services firm. Married for almost 25 years with three daughters (two in college, one in high school). Like TP, I turn 50 later this year.

I got hooked on Bond by watching TSWLM on early cable TV in 1978, but my favorite film is OHMSS, with GF in second place. A few years ago, I was looking through old photo albums and diaries that my mother wrote "to" me when I was an infant, and I discovered much to my delight that my first movie ever was GF at a drive-in with my parents in early 1965. So, there must have been something subliminal that led me back to Bond 13 years later.

I also love crossword puzzles, music, jogging, cooking, making/consuming cocktails, and watching sports of any kind, my strongest allegiances being the Minnesota Vikings ( X-( ) and Newcastle United FC ( X-( X-( X-( X-( ).

How does someone born and raised in Orange County become a Newcastle supporter? I know the weather is almost identical, but beyond that...

I'm Keith, born and raised in New York City. Married for most of my life, I'm the proud father of two sons and grandfather to two beautiful girls. I'm an attorney (easy on the jeering!) specializing in real estate finance with a focus on multifamily housing. I have been a fan of the Bond films from the beginning, staunchly in the Connery corner when it comes to favorite/best Bond actor. My favorite Bond film is Goldfinger, and You Only Live Twice is my gulity pleasure. I'm still catching up on the Fleming novels, so far I've read Casino Royale, From Russia With Love, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Live and Let Die and The Spy Who Loved me. Of those, Casino Royale is my favorite. As far as hobbies, besides watching the Bond films and reading books about the Bond films, I enjoy listening to jazz, watching football (the New York Giants are my team), and spending time enjoying activities with my grandaughters (they live with my wife and me). My fondest desire at the moment is to visit my youngest son who lives in Osaka, Japan. Maybe it will finally happen this year! :D

I've been into James Bond since I read the books in the 60s, then started watching the movies and collecting the soundtrack albums. I've become somewhat of an expert on Bond music and have worked on court cases concerning, er, a certain aspect of it that I can't discuss openly.

I'm a working musician, playing bass, piano or guitar as required (my avatar is really me, playing a Fender Telecoustic*), and have a small army of children and grandchildren.

    * a much maligned guitar. I have two**, it's a fantastic instrument when set up and treated properly. It sounds like sh1t unplugged, but amplified it's the best!

** Standard and DeLuxe. The Deluxe is the better guitar, but the Standard (pictured) weighs about as much as a sheet of A4 and genuinely feels like it's part of your arm. Avoid the Squier. The Acoustasonic version is probably even better, but it's beyond my price range.

Hi, I'm Neil. I work in London. I like all the Fleming Books and the others too, any Bond is better than no Bond. Favourite film is The Living Daylights, love the PTS, saying that I really liked Skyfall (wish they'd just do the films faster, three years, really!)

Good to see members from all across the world

I'll try to be brief here...as a young California boy in the 1970s, I would occasionally see English football on TV. The team shown most often was Liverpool, whose star was Kevin Keegan, who became my favorite player. I mostly lost track of football/soccer through the 1980s, with the exception of World Cups which I watched religiously. Flash forward to 1994, when I went to London to live for most of the year. To my American eyes, Newcastle were the most exciting team and certainly scored the most goals, led by Andy Cole and Peter Beardsley, who became my new favorite player. Newcastle's manager: none other than Keegan. So, the pieces all fit. I even went to Upton Park to see them demolish West Ham. I am a "remote supporter" -- I have never even been to Newcastle (except on a train passing through to Edinburgh) let alone to St. James's Park or whatever they call it now that goofball Mike Ashley has renamed it. Hilarious rumor I read last week is that wrestling impressario Vince McMahon is in talks to buy the club from Ashley -- I don't believe it, but it certainly made me laugh.

OK, I guess I failed at being brief! :))

Excellent explanation Sir Hillary, and I respect and applaud your decision not to adopt one of the usual suspects (ie: Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal etc).

Hi! I'm Chris. I am a director from Stoke. See www.chrisstonefilms.com
Grew up watching Bond on Tv. I remember when Goldeneye came out at the cinema when I was 12 I was super excited! Goldeneye is still my favourite. I think I spent everyday of high school playing the N64 game! The reason I became a filmmaker was because I made it my ambition to direct the 30th James Bond film. I've recently got it to prop collecting. My FE Golden Gun. :D

Here goes.....My name is Kevin and I live on the Peninsula of the San Francisco Bay Area. I just turned 38 and have worked for a family owned grocery store since the age of 21. I don't see myself working anywhere else, but if need be, I will go work elsewhere. I've been a Bond fan for most of my life. I think A View To A Kill was the first Bond movie I saw and liked because I was familiar with some of the locations. But, AVTAK isn't my favorite Bond movie, Goldfinger is. I'm single and have no kids, at least, none that I'm aware of. In my off time I enjoy drinking Wheat Beers and watching TV. It's an o.k. life but could be better.
