I received my Peacoat today and I'm very happy to say it doesn't disappoint.
I'm not in the position to really critique it in terms of screen accuracy (tbh I never really studied it that closely and most screen captures are terrible quality) or how close it is to the Billy Reid version (I've never seen one in the flesh) but I can say that this is one very VERY nice jacket.
The wool is a nice thickness and a very dark blue, the leather highlights under the collar and under the flap pockets don't feel cheap at all.
Basically what I'm trying to say is this is not the type of item that you think of when you hear the term replica...its better to think of it as a quality item that just happens to look the same as the Billy Reid coat.
If you are still deciding, don't, just get it, you won't be disappointed.

fist i want to give you a short introduction of myself.
My name is Sascha and i am from germany and for a long time, i was just a "background" reader here, but oneday i stumbled across nico (richmentoys) via coincidence and so im finally here to show you my first impression of the absolutely gorgeous peacoat from royalefilmware -{
here in comparison to the BR original
RFW size XS, BR size S (so both are 38 chest)
Wool quality is a bit softer than the BR, the colour in the picture is a bit off but in real its (like the BR) almost a black with a blueish taint.
sizing is fantastic!
the only minor differences are:
- the buttons which are a little bit smaller and other shape.
- the stitches on the collar are on both sides
- lining inside the coat (which i find more comfortable)
but these are so slightly off you barely even notice it.
i would definitely buy this coat again and give it a 4,5/5.
Hopefully this small review (had to do it quick and dirty, so no tie ) give you a good impression of the coat and if you have any questions or need better/other pictures just send me a PM. It's always a red letter day for me when i get hold of one of Dan's jacket and I collected my Royale peacoat from the mail depot a few days ago and I wasn't disappointed, my initial impression was again that this was a well made and quality item.
After unwrapping it I could see my jacket had a few creases in it so I left it to hang in the bathroom for a couple of days and then used a damp cloth and an iron to get rid of some stubborn creases in the back and on the one arm.
Like Sascha (who did a great review earlier) I also have a Billy Reid from 2012 (small) and now have the Royale (extra small).
Doing a side by side comparison the colour of the two is close (if you can't do a direct comparison you would be pushed to spot the difference against photos and video of the Billy Reid original).
The Royale is longer in the arms and back length by an inch (a bit of room for tailoring which I'll probably get done in the summer to slightly shorten), I think the Royale does fit better in the body.
The Royale does feel slightly lighter but the material is still of very good quality and the leather trim will age well after a bit of use. The lining on the Royale is also a nice bonus along with an inside pocket which I find useful for keeping wallet, phone etc...
Thanks again Dan for another great item (now makes three of your jackets this past few months for me). If you are thinking about getting this jacket I'd recommend getting it before they're gone (Do check the sizing charts carefully).

Ray, great write-up on the peacoat. I'd love to get one. It sounds better for me than the original in terms of fit, but I just got a Billy Reid cotton peacoat and even that is too heavy for the weather here in California this winter. 82F/28C today. It's too hot to wear any jacket.
Well i just got my large Royale peacoat. This is my first Royale jacket, so wasnt positive on sizing, but Dan's tips were a great help.( I feel confident that i'd be an X-Large in the other jackets.)
It fits how i wish my other mere mortal peacoat did in the waist and chest. Very good tailored fit. I guess I'm glad i didnt go with the X-Large. The sleeves are a bit too long, and the slash hand pockets seem constricted on space due to the button locations. Thats really the only negative things i can say about the jacket. Getting the sleeves shortened is an easy tailor fix, and the pockets dont really bother me much.
The leather details are nice and dark. The lining feels great. I think the weight of the jacket is perfect for my winter climate. Not too heavy, not light, just right. It'll be my go to winter coat. Love it.

Just to touch on a couple of things... I've always shipped my jackets in waterproof satchels, having personally had items water damaged through international shipping. So the first dozen coats were sent out in the same satchels, but I decided a couple of weeks ago that these coats in particular should be shipped in boxes, so now they are which should minimise unnecessary creasing.
Also, shipping rates.... AHHHHH shipping rates. I have ordered a new run of harrington jackets today, unfortunately the delay has been due to unexpected shipping rates on these coats from Australia. I misunderstood the rates when quoting everyone and as these coats in a box come in just under 2kg, it's obscenely expensive. Anything over a size small to the UK is 82AUD, and an XS or above to Denmark or Austria is 91AUD. It has really taken a healthy bite out of my margins, but never fear!!!
I was hoping to order the harringtons a little sooner, but we just hit the magic number of sales to make the project happen. They are on their way... with a few minor improvements.

Ultimately, I quoted you guys a shipping rate and I'm happy to stick with that. I just didn't realise that there is a 'cubing' rate as well as a plain 'weight' rate. I am considering buying shares in Australia Post
As mentioned by Kaleem, I'm optimistic the Harringtons will be about 8-10 weeks... of course, I'll keep you posted.
