I've had a tweet from Lucy Fleming - niece of one Ian Fleming - and she's confirmed the date that the OHMSS radio Play will be aired later this year around 2.30PM on 3 May 2014.

I posted this on my 007 Blog - and at the risk of sounding boastful - I think it's an exclusive as I've not seen the date advertised anywhere else! -{

If you'd like to read the article I wrote about this please have a look at my blog it's here - http://bondmisc.weebly.com/1/post/2014/02/ohmss-radio-play-coming-soon-i-hope.html

    I've enjoyed the other Bonds that BBC radio 4 have done, and as it's my favourite book / movie
    I'll definitely be listening. -{

    +1. These have been classy, excellent adaptations. I missed FRWL but was very impressed with GF and DN (well, bar David Suchet's Doctor No).

    :)) Yes loved him as Poirot, but he did a very nasally voice. Which I didn't like either.

    On the other hand, Ian McKellen was a superb Goldfinger.

    I might be able to help on the FRWL front for you Barbel - just watch this space!

    Sorry, found DN total am-dram rubbish. Stephens' voice over was awful; did it not occur to the producers that Fleming never wrote Bond in the first person for a reason? (Micheal Jaytson's YOLT take 20ish years ago was far, far better).

    Dire. I think I got to the night journey to Crab Key, cringing and gob-smacked at the village hall, "right ho, vicar" quality of the production.

    Didn't even bother with the other two, won't bother with OHMSS. EON made some pretty good cinematic adaptations of the novels dramatized so badly by radio, though. ;)

    Barbel -- I'm in the middle of uploading the FRWL radio play to Youtube - then I'll post it on my website and you'll be able to listen to it - hope that you'll like it and I'll let you know when it's don.

    It's taking a while as I'm having to split it into 6 parts - but I'll let you know when you can listen to them

    I've finished the project now and you can have a listen to FRWL Radio play here:

    http://bondmisc.weebly.com/5/post/2014/03/from-russia-with-love-radio-play.html

    It's a bit of a time consuming process uploading them and then putting them on the blog - but I think I'll do the same for the other plays in the not too distant future and then if there's anyone who's not listened to them they can do so via my blog.

    Hope that you enjoy it if you've not already heard it.

    enjoy them ( usually listen to them having a long bath ) and I'm looking forward
    To OHMSS.

    Thanks...being over in the States, I've wanted to be able to hear even one of these broadcasts, but haven't been able to find them anywhere. Already listening to FRWL!

    There was a YOLT Radio Play from the early 90's. It's up on YouTube if anyone is interested.

    I've got that one too and it's pretty faithful to the novel - I'll have to upload that one too - think I'll put them all on the blog so it'll have the complete set on there.

    Listening to FRWL right now....

    Update
    It wasn't bad. Mark Gatiss was memorable as Kronsteen (he's got to get involved with the film series in some capacity, writing or acting), as was Tim Pigott-Smith as Kerim. Some understandable changes (trimming the konspiratsia scenes at the start of the novel, bringing 007 in earlier), some sad ones (Krilencu/gypsies trimmed).

    Good choice, I'd say. Especially if he wears this appropriate item-

    Is there a complete list of what books have been made into radio plays, and are they available on CD?

    I listened to it yesterday at work whilst I was collating reports. Toby Stephens played a passable James Bond, and Alex Jennings was especially good as Draco.
