Is Skyfall your favorite film of 2012?

Until I find something better (in my eyes) at least, Skyfall and The Amazing Spider-Man are both my favorite films of 2012. Because when I saw The Amazing Spider-Man, I felt like I was being taken for a ride. And Skyfall was one of the great Bond adventures in my humble opinion. :007) -{

Yes, I think Skyfall was probably my favourite film of 2012. There were some other good films...Argo, Les Miserables...but Skyfall would be tops for me.

Tough choice, as I also loved, The dark knight rises ( I love everything Batman ) and the
brilliant. Django Unchained. So I'd say SF is in my top three for 2012. :D

Definitely my favorite film of 2012 for me (come on, it's Bond!), although not necessarily the best. For example, I think Django Unchained was a better film overall.

I knew some people didn't think it was as terrific as some of the fans of the film did, but I didn't
think it had that level of hatred. There are a few of the films that would be pretty low on my list
of Bond films, but I still bought the DVD/ bluray etc. :))

I am also surprised that any Bond fan would think Skyfall is deserving of such hatred. Oh well, to each his (or her) own.

Not even close.. of the films I saw from that year, it's probably at the bottom. I just did not like the film at all. I didn't think it was good film period, let alone a good Bond film. I've tried watching it again after enough time to come at it as fresh as possible and I just cannot like it by any stretch. And it amazes me... even Moonraker can give me a couple hours of fun but Skyfall just annoys and angers me as I try to watch it.

The "hate" Skyfall recieves just goes to show you really can't please everyone.
For some, it had everything and was brilliant. For others, it was everything they didn't want.
Glad I'm not a film maker.

But to answer the question, yes probably. Not a massive fan of Dark Knight Rises though I do like. Like Django Unchained and Les Miserables but I'd place Skyfall above them.

I would also agree that Skyfall was my favorite movie out of 2012. Given, I really didn't see a lot of movies that year, or last year for that matter, but still it and The Amazing Spider-man were my top two films of 2012.
1, GE 2, CR 3, SF 4, TWINE 5, Spectre 6, TMWTGG 7, DAD 8, LALD 9, AVTAK 10, LTK 11, Octopussy 12, Moonraker 13, TLD 14, GF 15, QOS 16, Tomorrow 17, FYEO 18. TSWLM Not seen much: Dr. No, Russia, Thunderball, Twice, Majesty.

Same here. It's the only Bond film that I have a completely negative reaction. I seriously like every Bond film except this one.

That being said it's still my favorite film of 2012... because it's Bond. :))

I don't see how anybody could hate Skyfall, when we got "films" like Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, Die Another Day, and Quantum of Solace.

Theses "films" (QOS, DAD, TWINE, TND) are much, much, much, much, MUCH more deserving of any kind of hatred you guys can dish out.

    Why is that ?

You will find different people like different films...perhaps you should enlighten us as to why you hate the films you mentioned...

QoS is EASILY one the best Bond films ever....and the other films you mention each have redeeming qualities too....its all subjective....

Agreed. It took Me a long time to learn that none of us hold the monolopy on
what is or isn't a good Bond film. :))
We simply have different tastes. For some the camp humor of Moonraker
makes it great, while others hate it. Why not glory in the fact that Bond has
been so successful, with so many styles, that we are lucky enough to have a
Selection of Bond films to suit all our moods and ages. ;)

Why does anybody hate certain Bond films? Sure, you can like some more than others, but hate...? A VIEW TO A KILL is my least favourite Bond but I don't hate it. It's got its niggling moments but there's enough to make it watchable & entertaining in its own sweet way. Surely hate is just too emotive a word to apply to the dear old Bond franchise.

Maybe "hate" is the wrong word to use here. I don't hate QoS, TND, TWINE, and DAD...I just don't care for them. I much prefer GoldenEye, or Casino Royale (2006) or Skyfall. Or even any of the older Bond films such as Connery's official six EON films, or Roger Moore's seven, or Timothy Dalton's two-shot or George Lazenby's one-shot.

it doesn't even make me angry - it just bores me because it never engages me and lacks any kind of centre - its awkward and disjointed like something put together by a committee

TWINE and TND are both fine films - DAD and QoS not so much. TWINE and TND have clear themes, character development/arcs and plots. The villains are worthy of Bond and there is the wonderful blend of beauty and danger that is unique to Bond. DAD suffers from being over the top and too-gadgety. QoS is just weak - weak villain, weak plot, with nothing beautiful in it and some silliness like Fields.

I feel exactly the same about AVTAK - weakest of the lot, for sure, but I don't HATE it. In fact, the only Bond film I hate is Casino Royale '67, but that's not a real Bond film so it doesn't count as far as I'm concerned.
