On the subject of Bond 24, now that Bond's character has effectively been 'reborn', Vulture pondered that Craig's interpretation would now be 'ready to take on the trappings and suits of 007 with less chafing'.

'Ready to reclaim some of the old irony' - Daniel Craig talks about the style of Bond 24...
In an interview focused on their upcoming Broadway production of Harold Pinter's play 'Betrayal', Daniel Craig and his wife Rachel Weisz opened up to Vulture about working together. And, inevitably, the article rounds out with some brief talk about his fourth James Bond outing ('Bond 24') due out in 2015.
After 'Betrayal' wraps its 14 week run on Broadway, Craig confirmed he will shift in to 007 duty, pegging the earliest start of his pre-production on Bond 24 around March 2014 (assuming a break inbetween). Given the confirmed release date, filming is not expected to commence until around October next year.
Before talking about Bond 24, Craig says that the central plot of M dying in 'Skyfall' was a bit of a 'downer' but lifted by a late "humour pass" on the script by John Logan - who will pen the next two 007 outings for which Craig is contracted. The article reveals that additional humour was added during filming: "The shot where Bond leaps atop a speeding train in pursuit of a killer and straightens his cuffs: That came to Craig practically in mid-flight.
“He’s really **** hurt himself jumping on top of a train,” he says, “and he just wants to straighten himself up. That’s what it’s about: poise. To be more concerned about the way you look at the moment of crisis. The weirder the place it comes from the better it is.”
Craig had the crew reset the train scene, which took an hour, so they could do the additional take. It became an iconic moment in the film.

Yep--it now seems to be as popular as the new Bond girl saying "She's Bond's equal!" I take comfort in Craig saying he doesn't do shtick, so I'm not expecting a Roger-Mooreish Bond comedy.
Love this admission... and I'm glad he's admitted it (even if he's said it before...) - not including certain traits is one thing, but telling us why he doesn't is the measure of someone who really cares for the role. How many complaints would there be, if he tried to be something he isn't... and fails. That would be awful.
Anyway, I like the more serious Bond... but then, I was a Dalton fan too... :007)

This to me is a way of showing how Bond is not uneffected by having to kill in the line
of duty, that he is human after all.

+1. One of the many reasons why the modern, more character- driven Craig films are truly great, as much as the detractors would like us to move away from them and back to the Bond-as-a-cipher action films of yesterday...
I don't think it's the act of killing another human that bothers Bond. It's when he's has to do it in cold blood - outside of self defense. Like a soldier in combat, he's been trained to dispatch his enemy as quickly and as ruthlessly as possible. He may dislike that part of his job, but I don't think he dwells on the one's that were trying to kill him. His change of shirt and wound repair and drink after the stairwell fight appeared to me to be his way of bringing down his stress level as quickly as possible so he could get back to the game.
I sensed he was furious from having to deal with the battle rather than any type of anxiety from having had to kill the men who attacked him.
That's old school?
