EA's From Russia With Love & Everything or Nothing

Have you played these third-person shooters by Electronic Arts? I have played Everything or Nothing 007 along time ago but I never completed it and I never touched From Russia With Love 007, because I heard a negative review about it....But now that these games are dirt cheap on Amazon.com, I think they're worth revisiting again, especially since I never played one of them in the first place.

From Russia With Love was good, they had to make some Changes and replace SPECTRE with a Group called Octopus because of the whole Legal Ramblings over the Character of Blofeld.

Everything or Nothing in my humble option is one of the best James Bond video games ever produced by EA. In addition to the third person sections, their are many stages that involve driving/ operating vehicles that help to keep the game from becoming boring. Also their are many espionage activities that you engage in to gather information which is something that has been lacking in the Activision released games apart from Goldeneye and Blood Stone.

You should defiantly consider picking this game up.

I loved the combat system in EON, lots of punches,blocks,throws and takedowns. There are even weapons to use as well. Is it just me that would string fights out on purpose? seems more realistic that way.

Everything or Nothing was, for me, the best Bond game released and I have played them all. It had a nice mix of weapons, gadgets and play styles. Graphically, the game looked really nice and even supported widescreen TVs which were just starting to become more prevalent at the time. The difficulty was just right and the game was challenging but never frustrating.

From Russia With Love on the other hand was a real step backwards. The game simply didn't control or play all that well with all kinds of framerate hiccups, vague objectives, really poorly designed sections and oddly placed checkpoints which led to having to replay certain levels over and over. Even though it was released after EoN, graphically it was a step backward and Connery's voiceovers were pretty bland and he sounded quite old. There was speculation that Electronic Arts had already moved its best teams onto projects for the Xbox 360 and PS3 (both of which were close to being released) and that less experienced and talented developers were put to work on FRWL. It might be worth a look if it can be had for under $5 or $10 at most but I honestly wouldn't pay more than that.

From Russia with Love was a poor choice to make as a Bond game. A huge missed opportunity too as they got Connery to voice. They could have made a real good game. I think I posted hints about what I would do around here. I think to any Bond and videogame fan the idea is obvious. Too bad the people working on or behind the scenes could not have been either. The game itself is by the numbers and nothing special at all.

Everything or Nothing is a lot better. It's an ok game. Probably a 7 or so. I still think Goldeneye is the best Bond game. Or Perfect Dark if you want another spy game. But that goes towards sci-fi too.

I loved EoN. In fairness, it was the first PS2 game I played so it came with a boost to its wow factor, but I was still going back to dip into levels a couple of years later. The combat was so much fun, and it came with a voice cast fit for a real movie. I'd argue that the theme song was in the top percentile of Bond themes too.

FRWL was a real anticlimax. It should have been a model for how to bring an older actor back to voice themselves as a younger character but it felt cheap and over far too quickly. The movie was one of the grittier Bond films but the game missed this completely, turned it into a jet-packing, forward-rolling cartoon, complete with a robotised Robert Shaw in the last level. Not good.

Anyone developing a new Bond game needs to be locked in a room with Goldeneye N64 and Everything or Nothing for a weekend before they start on it. -{

I'm a Bondfan because EON, I was 5 when my parents gave it to my brother, and I saw him playing it, after he was done with de GameCube, I turned it on and I played hours and hours, same with DAD, first Bondfilm I saw, I can't hate it, it's an special one for me. But EON gave me a lovely feeling, it was so fantastic for a young boy. The plot is weird, the game is way too sci fi, but I didn't care, I couldn't speak English in the days (it's still crappy) so I had to do it with what I could do, the missions. They were fun and all different. Oh, and there are cars, little me loved cars haha.

From Russia With Love was my second Bondgame, the graphics are bad, but the gameplay is fine, it's fun to plays with de DB5 and jetpack. It's following the storyline quite well. I think it's a good one, beside the graphics. And Connery, well, he sounds old, but what did you espect, a time traveling voice, a young Connery? M and Q are fine, so are Klebb, Grand and Kerim. Only Penny sounds a bit weird, but overall, it's fun.

I played both of these games all the way through and I thoroughly enjoyed both. EON was a great addition to the Brosnan era zeitgeist and a blast to play, and FRWL was equally fun (same playing style) with the added thrill of playing as Connery in the Connery-era retro world. These were probably the best bond games IMO (although GE64 will always be my favorite for nostalgic reasons).

I enjoy EON and FRWL. EON was the much better game though. It truly felt like Pierce's final Bond film. It had a solid cast and was long. It was a daring Bond game with a great difficulty curve. From Russia With Love does feel like a step back in certain aspects. The controls feel sluggish and the fighting has been simplified. I don't think it's a bad game. It's still an enjoyable game. I do feel that From Russia From Love was not a good Bond film to base a game off of. You Only Live Twice would have been much better. Heck the last mission in FRWL feels like you're in the YOLT Volcano Base. Both are worth owning.

I'm foggy about EON, I don't remember any of the shooter missions just a driving level in South America or something and another one later where you're on the bridge in New Orleans. FRWL I never finished. I bought it right when it came out then took it home all excited and played the first level or two. I remember being disappointed in the gameplay and even though I didn't make a conscious decision to never play it again the game just wound up collecting dust all these years. I still plan on playing it some day but I don't currently have a console that can play it.

This was a fantastic game. I still have it for the Xbox somewhere in the house. I wish I could go back to the days my friends and I would play it for hours. So much fun.

I got EoN for Christmas and got to boot up our old PS2 for the first time in years. It's the first time I've ever played this game and it's fantastic. Really does play like Brosnan's 5th movie because the actors, likenesses and gadgets continue right from DAD.

I like the 3rd person view that let's you see Bond and allows for great hand-to-hand combat. The different outfits you get to wear during the game are great too, like the GE/TWINE/DAD Brosnan-style tan suit, his black tactical outfit, and the classic dinner suit. The two difficulty levels are about perfect for normal and hard.

The base jumping level where you're trying to catch the girl and dodging rocky outcrops is alone worth getting this. Damn I felt like Bond during that one, and during the motorcycle chase where you have to catch the taking-off plane. :D I haven't finished the whole game yet so I'll come back with my final thoughts.
