  Though not in the films, it's worth checking out the Gritti Palace. It's where Fleming stayed when visiting and where he had Bond stay in the novels. I stayed there one night of my week trip when I was stationed in Naples. It cost me a small fortune at the time but it was worth it. You could just go there to order a drink and enjoy the canal back then - don't know if you can still do it now. It went under a recent, huge renovation. If you don't drink, you can still go into the lobby and look around. Let us know if you get the chance. Also check out Harry's Bar by the canal - another Fleming haunt (as well as Hemingway's and other celebs). Had a great martini there. If you can, take a vaporetto over to Alberoni and go to the end of the Lido peninsula where the golf course is. Bond did this in "RISICO". I went there and there was no one about. The fence was there with the warning signs and I was told they still never cleared all the WWII mines (this is behind the fence along the boundry of the golf course property). There was a concrete jetty there with an old concrete machine gun bunker. It's probably still there because the Italian government takes forever to develop any property because of a combination of lack of funds or the almost institutionalized embezzling that is commonplace.
  
  Though Bond did not gamble there, I did play some roulette in the Lido casino. Another way to spend a relaxing time is to sit in front of one of the restaurants in St. Marks square (Florians or Quadri) while having an Americano or Negroni, listening to the orchestras and watch the antics of the tourists (both have great lunches though pricey). Fleming loved Venice.

  Just checked out some Google Earth sat images of the Lido jetty I mentioned. Sad to say it looks like they've walled off the jetty due to some renovating going on and I dont see any sign of the WWII bunker.
