...and think that Licence to Kill is the weakest James Bond film of them all?
I know this film gets a lot of love nowadays with people praising Dalton in the role and I agree with that, I think he's fine in the film...but he just doesn't cut it for me.
I feel this film has an uninspired and pretty underwhelming story
Flat Direction by John Glen
Apart from the awesome ending I don't find much of the action to be ... Well maybe memorable is the best way to put it.
And I just hate the location
I really want this film to grow on me but I just can't see why people rank it quite so highly. I know this will start an uproar with Fleming & Dalton purists but I just want to know if any other members rank this film low down on there list, Or bottom like me..... I'm sorry guys

....and the best he ever managed was a sermon on the mount.

As for LTK, I too didn't like it in the cinema But after a few times on dvd I fell in love with it
It's now one of my favourites. -{
I love LTK, will always be one of my all Time favorite Bond Outings. This and For Your Eyes Only.
Watched it again a few years ago and when giving it my full attention I really enjoyed the storyline. It jumped into my top 10
Does Dalton struggle with the humorous side? Sure. He also adds a more human side to the character that was quite a nice new spin.
I totally get the viewpoint of those that dislike this film, I just don't necessarily agree. I do find myself missing out on the lack of humor at times though which holds it back for me.
No, that would be A View To A Kill. )
Actually, I think Licence to Kill is a very good hard-edged Bond.
Forgot to mention that I really do like Sanchez as the villain, he is the highlight of the film for me (along with Dario).
Also forgot to mention that I find the bar fight in this film almost as cringeworthy as the "fight" in the Microchip factory ...... almost lol
Ahem, Man With The Golden Gun
You see? Even at my advanced age I am still able to acquire wisdom (or is it that I am imparting wisdom to a young fella such as yourself?) Either way, I'm glad we agree! {[]
Yep, TMWTGG also gets my vote as weakest Bond of all...
The second half is plain boring and irritating ( minus the truck tanker chase)
I like the locations, Carey Lowell is great Talisa looks hot - Dalton weepy as always and the appearance of the HK agents quite unnecessary and boring.
Did I mention Daltons pathetic Dracula hairstyling in the Casino sequence? {:)
Even though, imo DAF is by far worse and I prefer LTK over TLD personally.
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
In the rather odd and uncomfortable position of agreeing with him about
Dalton's hair style in the casino, I always thought it looked too swept back.
I am currently on vacation in Asia with limited internet coverage - but am there when I am needed
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Yes, it's better than most of his regular Bond books.
The action scenes are expertly staged, and Dalton gives a superb performance with his no-nonsense, hard-as-nails approach to the role.
My main criticism of the film is the level of brutality contained in it; I would never want to see another Bond film in the same vein ever again.
