Do you feel Bond's "widower" status could have been explored?

Its occurred to me that EON could have made a potentially terrific (post-Lazenby, pre-Craig) Bond film, exploring Bond's status as a widower. I mean, they already made mentions/references in FYEO and LTK, so why didn't they just make such a film?

Added to which, Pierce Brosnan could have been the man to pull off such a film, as he had suffered such a real-life experience, losing his wife (Cassandra Harris, no less). IMO the people at EON truly missed a golden opportunity there.

Your thoughts?
"Well, he certainly left with his tails between his legs."

DAF never picked up on it because Guy Hamilton came back to direct, along with Connery returning as Bond. A lot of Fans were not ready for OHMSS, after the Epics of TB and YOLT which had larges Set Designs and Plots. Tracy is referenced in TSWLM where Bond has to cut off Anya and he looks clearly pained by it.

It would feel like the Marvel comic book version of James Bond, so, no.

I'd say Vesper now replaces Tracy in the Craig era. Her memory now fulfils Bond's feelings of loss & regret. Only three films in, his Bond seems to have gone through the whole gamut of emotions. What next? Early redundancy, sacking for inappropriate behaviour, industrial tribunal hearings or seeking compensation for accidents in the workplace. I'm exhausted for the poor chap.
