The rain is back again in NI after the really good spell we've had for the last few weeks.

That looks like a very nice town to visit Number 24 ,but im sure you don't go there for the sunshine ,
I would imagine the sea food there is 2nd to none
You are both right, of course :007) Norway has always been known for its fine cuisine (even more so than England) and Ålesund looks a lot like a town on the long Austrian coastline .....
I thought I had pestered everyone in this forum posting my opinion that Norway would have been a better choice than Austria? If not I'll be happy to do it again )
To answer AS' question more seriously: I have never eaten at a restaurant in Ålesund, but I believe there is at least one restaurant where it's possible to bring a fishing rod and fish from the window! Fishing is great here, but I seldom do.
Ålesund was a centre of the illegal boat refugee route during WWII (let's not forget today is not the first time Europe had boat refugees).
In fact Ålesund was referred to as "Little London" for this reason. One party of refugees were even naive enough to visit the town's police station to ask where they could find tpe next boat bound for England! Many Norwegian policemen were far too loyal to the authorities, but luckily the officer they met was more loyal to doing what was right and the refugees were put in touch With the right people

Before going to the cinema, I'm going to have some Mexican food
for my tea, to add to the Pre Title atmosphere.

Have a drink on me, landlord- I would say your pleasure, but I know the kind of response you'd give!- and cheer up, things will settle down to their usual level of insanity soon enough.

Thanks Barbel I'll see it a double for both of you.
I have a new past time to add to the pubs services. It does involve hot air, but the productive kind. Victoria sponge, or Madeira cake?
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

I like this Scottish version.
"'I can see!' Said the blind man.
'Havers! Said the deaf man.
The man with no legs walked away in disgust."
It seems appropriate for some of the odd ball topics we have had recently.

If you mean the cakes, it's early days so focusing on firm but succulent sponges. Muffins next!
It's now me with the Lovely Naomie :x
