Blessed is not bad casting. Long before MR was filmed, I'd pictured James Mason (with red hair and moustache) and he was actually offered the part at one point. Lonsdale is very good (what a coincidence that Fleming likened Drax to a "Lonsdale figure") but his icy, controlled Drax isn't Fleming's.

Yes, a film version would be great, although with MR, GE and DAD they've already tried adapting it three times and failed miserably to provide an honest straight adaptation each and every one of those times so I don't hold out much hope for it happening sadly...

Well, of course Fleming worked on a James Bond TV series first of all and the FYEO collection was partly composed from TV Bond episodes he had written in 1959 or so.
