Back on topic, I'm guessing bug guys massive fee cut in to the films budget,
Hence. The lack of exotic locations and those awful " matt work " explosions.
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
Yes, I'd say the budget was running out for the set dressing etc for
the oil rig, along with the really bad helicopter explosions.
I can imagine the excited location scout- "I just found this jolly cool oil platform out on the water that they'll let us use FOR FREE!! If we just avoid photographing all the grimy, filthy parts & rusted up walls & beams, we SHOULD be able to complete the film with the three hundred pounds we have left!"

I think the real shame was that the film decided to jettison the interesting story line it had developed in the first half (even with its black comedy / campy tones) and try to recreate the wham-bang finale from YOLT. So it seems to me like TLD years later, where the producers lost the courage of their convictions and decided that the key to a Bond film finish was lots of shooting and fireworks. And so, maybe to kickstart another topic - how many of those "big finish" scenes were any good? Moonraker was terrible and TMWTGG not much better than DAF. I even found YOLT fairly boring (though admit it was probably good at the time). The only one I ever thought worked well was TSWLM
Yeah, having Maggie in FYEO sort of ruined the Seriousness of the Film )
I agree. FYEO is the best of the Moore Bonds for me, mainly because of the more serious tone. That last bit is jarring and unnecessary, in my opinion. We can't blame Moore for that one!
