The Man with the Grey Gun!

Something a bit different now folks. When FE released their Golden Gun replica some were disappointed that it was not 100% screen accurate which was surprising as it was created from a 3D digital scan of the original Albert Luxford created 1974 filming prop. When the prototype was shown to Peter Lamont he said "it was spot on!". The interesting thing is the one he was shown was pretty much spot on and eagle eyed AJBers may have noticed that the image FE released of Mr Lamont holding the prototype was in fact a grey and not a Golden Gun!
Seen here for the first time on AJB007 this is the screen accurate prototype "Greyolden Gun" which Mr Lamont was holding. Created from a 3D scan of the original prop, this resin prototype was the first stage in the process to produce the production replica. The next stage of the process was a metal master which would be utilised to create the production pieces in China. The gun is the most accurate representation of the original prop outside of the official Bond Production Archive & like the original if the cuff link thread is not fully engaged & locked into the lighter base plate it pretty much falls apart as the original prop did back in 1974.
As with the original filming prop, the diamond cut engraving on the lighter component was done using the traditional method...by hand, by a crafts man here in Great Britain and interestingly the total cost to produce the prototype is believed to be roughly the same amount it took to create the 1974 Colibri £5k original (which got broke) -{

I have found the correct colour code for "Golden Gun Grey, " a Spies Hecker formula that has been under wraps all these years, from the original shop in Huddersfield. The craftsman claims to have the original open can of lead based paint used in 1974. It even has drips down the side. I'm so lucky that he is not charging any extra to open and give it a stir. When I told him I was from California, he suddenly found the actual brush he used to prime the model! I am so happy to have found these relics, and all I have to do is trade him a Rolex for it.
He even said that I could send him my GG and he would paint it. Talk about a lucky find.
I will just enclose the cash with the gun, per his instructions, and FedEx the Rolex to his brother's house, who is taking care of him.
So lucky on this find...
