Oh, I had plenty of those edited-down 20 minute versions of movies on super 8 sound. We used to take bad kung fu movies & re-record our own goofy soundtracks to them. )
Old Tec can be fun, I remember my sister had a friend who had loads
Of old Laurel and Hardy, and Charlie Chaplin films on 8mm. I can remember
Taking loads of slides, when starting photography ( as you had to be very
accurate with exposure, with slide film) it was always exciting setting up the
Screen and projector. Ah!, the old days.

As it's Easter, I watched Octopussy today, ( it has an Easter egg in it )
and I'm still impressed with the amount of detail in the transfer. -{ it's
One good looking movie.
I love the first establishing shot in India with the helicopter passing the
Taj Mahal, ( over 250 miles away from Octopussy's palace ) ) but looks
Breathtaking, with the great John Barry sdcore playing in the background.
It's the little things, like this that add to my pleasure in the Bond films. -{

I was amazed going from vhs to dvd to see Tee He's jacket when he leads Bond
on to the croc island, had a design in it. I never noticed that on vhs ( then maybe
back then, we had a crappy TV ) )

I still only need to get Never Say Never Again on Blu Ray just for the sake of it. (Somebody here that has it? )
I'm still very happy with the Bond 50 Blu Ray set -{

Just saw Goldeneye this past weekend in honor of its 20 year anniversary. Gosh, it does not really feel like 20 years to me(I am 32 at present, I saw Goldeneye at age 13.) it feels more like 15 to me. The film looked great, and it sounded just like I remembered it during all three times I saw it in the cinema.
At the present time, I currently have Dr. No, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, For Your Eyes Only, The Living Daylights, Licence To Kill, Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, Casino Royale(which looks and sounds just as good if not better on Blu Ray than it does on DVD, if you ask me.), Quantum Of Solace, and Skyfall on Blu Ray.

You can pick them up very cheaply on Amazon, I got mine a while back for
£5.99, I think . I only got it for the commentary, as my DVD didn't have any
extras just the trailer.

NSNA seems to be the most expensive Blu-ray to get. When I was checking on Amazon it was out of stock, luckily managed to find a reasonably priced one on eBay, but the average prices with postage were $40-50!
The Bond 50 collection is great but I find that a few of the films either hitch up or freeze.
I think it's an error from my Playstation 3 (what I use for a blu-ray player).
I remember having that on my AVTAK blu ray disc, and even having that on my AVTAK dvd as well. At EXACTLY the same scene (at Stacey's mansion ) it was as if my AVTAK were all cursed )
From my experience, Blurays seem very delicate. I've now got in to the habit of
Cleaning them before putting them in the player. As I've had so many skip or
Freeze on me.

In my experience Blurays are the same as DVDs- a tiny bit of an oily substance will throw them both for a loop. Any cleaner residue, dust or strange scuff marks will cause havoc. I've never had a problem I couldn't fix on a BR that dish soap & a little tlc couldn't fix, but then I have so many fewer of them than DVDs....
I'm now so paranoid, that I clean every bluray before playing as there's
Nothing more infuriating than a film freezing on you. X-( never had as
Many problems with DVDs.

The protective surface on BD is supposed to be much harder than on DVD's. I have not had any issue with any BD ever - whether the brand-new Bond 50 collection I bought, or the ones I borrow from the public library. On the other hand, most DVD from the library won't play and just look badly scratched. Of course, it also has something to do with the fact that fewer people have BD players than DVD players...
