I'm strictly a Samsung guy for flat screen TVs and BluRay players.
Heard nothing but good about Samsung. But I love me my Pan.
Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

    For your eyes Only:

Looks great on Bluray, The colour is not as Punchy as some others, but it's been nicely cleaned.
The sound is also terrific, I have read that it was " Worked on" to improve the quality for a
modern audience. well worth getting, if not already part of your collection.

    Octopussy :
Also looks fantastic and if anything looks more colourful, especially the parts In India. Once
again the clean up process has gives a great view, lots of detail. The sound is also very full
with rich tones. " DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround track " apparently. :D

Decided to press on and finish the last of the Roger Moore Bonds. :))
    everyone's favourite AVTAK .

    A view to a Kill :
Fantastic transfer, really great picture quality, punchy colours with good detail etc a really nice
restoration of the film. The audio is presented in the usual 5.1, helping to get the full effect
of the wonderful J Barry score.
Extras are the same on all the discs as the Ultimate dvd collection

Dr. No Blu Ray last night.
Boy, the BR really lets the Caribbean colours shine! And I never noticed the blood on Bond's knuckles after beating up the phoney Government House driver before... The sand, crabs, wet shirts, it all looked great.
I also took more notice of the dialogue this time- so wonderfully written.
Still one of my very favourites.
Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

My ratings so far: DN & YOLT look frickin phenominal, TLD & LTK look pretty amazing, TND looks better enough that I feel I didn't waste my hard earned coin.
It seems BR services older titles best.

Yup, def where the format shines if the studios have worked hard on them

Depending on the transfer etc some very old films on Blu Ray are awesome. I remember buying Zulu on Blu Ray - now that is surreal, the clarity is astonishing and if it wasn't for the haircuts, tomato sauce for blood etc you would think its new :D

I'm always amazed at the quality of the image on bluray -{ as already
Said, the difference in the older films is stunning, they do look like modern
Films. {[] The colours are fresh and punchy, even the textures in clothes
etc looks great. Also the sound quality has been worked on to improve the
    Overall effect.
At the moment I'm watching TLD & LTK for my bluray review and they do look great.

Got FRWL coming, GF is next. I might end my Blu Ray quest there for the time being. TB looks okay on DVD, OHMSS looks pretty darn fine.
But of course, I'll see a bargain & snatch them all up, one by one no doubt... :))

    TLD & LTK

Both look fantastic on Bluray, perhaps the colours of TLD look a little muted at the start but pick up
when the film proper starts. LTK also looks good, although with it being quite modern compared to the
early movies you'd expect it to.
The sound on Both is also a step up from the dvd as it's cleaner. All the usual extras and well worth getting.

Well, I loaded up the Ultimate Edition of Dr No, v good though some of the dialogue later in the film wasn't quite in sync, I thought it was due to the dubbing of Ursula Andress at first but I don't think that was it.

Flash of nudity from Andress after the shower scene in No's lair, not seen that before. The Basic Instinct moment of the day.

    "What's Basic Instinct, grandad?...

Oh, right... so just to be clear, it's not a sex tape, it was a movie, in which you get to see a vagina for a split second if you pause it on the, what's that, video. Did I pronounce 'video' right? Wow. like you really had to do that back then..."

Anyway, the shower scene, possibly paid homage to in Indiana Jones and the Chrystal Skulls, where Indy has to be scrubbed clean of radiation, would have been a big deal then. As you watch Bond and Honey relish it, of course in austerity Britain the main showers would have been for miners, I mean a good few folk had outdoor toilets still. Of course, the luxury would have been seen as even more sinister when it was all about to PoW camps and grim conditions.

The No and Bond speech or banter is a knockout, surely the best of the series. "East, West, mere points of the compass..." It is great stuff and rarely bettered, if only the Scaramanga dialogue had been this good. Though Silva gets marks for ambition in his monologue, which I found a bit unsavoury really.

For the early scenes, it's odd that a lot of the characters in Jamaica are quite agreeable but make no real impression, no emotional impression anyway. So we really fall back on Bond himself, rather as we do with Craig in CR. And aside from Moneypenny, Bond only really engaged full tilt when talking to No, though he warms up a bit with Honey beforehand.

When the black trio try to shoot Bond and fail, you can almost imagine them saying, 'Well bugger that then. Anyway, pizza?" "Yeah, you're on."

These guys were supposed to have got away with it acc to the book Mr Kiss Kiss Bang Bang but I suppose its implied they were driving the hearse that crashes.

A nice little film, with the budget going all out for the last reel.
"This is where we leave you Mr Bond."
