do you have churches? Do you have replicas?

Here are my ones, bought them at TK MAXX for about £30 ($50)
What do you think? Opinions please :) .

    Yep, they're definitely dessert boots, and chocolate-coloured too. Making me feel hungry. :D

    Seriously though, yes they're on the right lines, good work. Nice floor tiles too. -{

    I am a big fan of desert boots and have been wearing them, with interruptions, since my youth. Right now I have 5 pair in use and 1 pair in reserve because that line was discontinued (re-issued now).

    I have 2 pair of Clark’s Originals (cola and blue), 2 pair (and 1 brown pair in reserve) of Desert Green by Pretty Green (brown and champagne) and 1 pair by MERC London (black).

    The most comfortable are by far the ones made by Pretty Green. They have the softest suede and a very comfortable fit. They look a bit different from the regular desert boots by Clarks. The Clarks might be the best choice when you are looking for a high quality but affordable desert boot in the classic mold. The pair by MERC is very nice too but the sole is quite a bit stiffer and harder than most desert boots.

    One tip my late grandmother taught me when taking care of your suede shoes is to get a kettle of cooking water and hold your shoes in the steam, brush your shoes with a soft brush (not one of those suede specific rubber/steel brushes) and your shoes will look (almost) brand new.

    I use Loake Kemptons brown suede (also do them in black leather for the Shyfall Istanbul suit as well) and have done for years the good thing is they will resole them and they come back like new.

    Cheers :-)

    I just received today a pair of Herring Canterbury from DHL, which are basically the John White Westbury. Nabbed them during Herring's 25% off sale last weekend. Due to my wide feet I sized up slightly to an 11F. I just couldn't bring myself to spend another $180 on the Church Ryder. (If I had gotten those it would have been in a 10.5G.) Thankfully they fit well enough. The 10.5F would have probably been too tight.

    They are a bit sleeker than the Ryders, with a more pointy toe box. Construction wise they are no Ryder or Loake Kempton, but they will suit me fine. The only thing I'm not thrilled about is the insole. I'll have to add a thin leather insole as the boot's foot liner feels a bit thin and papery near the heel.

    With the money saved I can get the Y-3 replica in a couple weeks. :)

    On a complete tangent, this makes my 100th post. :p
