I like all the actor's introductions to be honest. Even Moore's. He was the only Bond to begin with him in bed with a girl -{
I feel like that's a great introduction to what Moore was like.
I personally love Brosnan's intro, who cares if it was in a toilet, he was being a badass and made a funny one-liner (Sorry, forgot to knock).
I feel like Connery's intro is a bit overplayed, but its still great and oozes class etc. George's one was great, lighting the cigarette and all, and I loved the Barry music. Dalton's one was utter superb! Very cleverly done, with you not knowing which one was 007, until that one shot where he turns his head and everyone's like 'THAT"S HIM!'
Craig's intro was done very well, the film-noir scene with the bathroom fight. All of them do a good job and portraying what their Bond was like just by the first scene.

I agree with only On Her Majesty's Secret Service (obviously), The Living Daylights and Goldeneye. For Moore, FYEO gets my vote and for Craig, SF gets the vote.
Connery had the best 'Opening Screen' Appearance, whilst Moores was not that spectacular.
Connery's opening scene is the most classic by far but I absolutely love Dalton's first appearance in TLD during the training exercise in Gibraltar. Usually I'm watching it after a marathon of silly Moore entries and as soon as I see Dalton I think 'thank god we're back to a serious, Fleming-esque Bond again'. )
The "first film the best" only works for me for Craig and Brosnan (I'm not counting Lazenby). In both cases EON had extra time to make the movie, so that's probably why they're the best.
Just think how good the Bond movies would be if EON only made one every ten years!
Of course most of the posters at AJB would go insane if that happened . . .
IMO, CR has Craig's weakest 007 performance. He did do quite well in the PTS, but I think throughout the rest of the movie his portrayal was often dry.
I feel it took Craig one more film to make 007 his own, and that was QoS (just my opinion).
I think Connery and Brosnan had better debut performances than Craig. Then again, I happen to like both more.

I have just watched Craigs performance in Casino Royale. From the first scene to the last he gives a bravura performance

I'd watch it again if I were you...

I might rewatch CR sometime, but it's currently my least fave of the Craig films. It just grew off hard for me.

I will concede that there are aspects I like: the directing by Campbell, Mikkelsen's acting, the torture scene, the PTS, some of the action, and Craig's delivery of the introductory line.
But I've my issues, we can discuss them more in the "Criticisms of Casino Royale" thread.

I quite like QoS and love SF. But no, I'm not too big on Craig as 007. I'd say I prefer Brosnan, Connery, Moore, and maybe even Dalton to him.

I think the theory does hold up; as a debut has to sell the new actor as Bond, the film cannot let the actor down. Once the actor has proved themselves in the first film, the latter films don't need to convince us that they are Bond because we accept it. Also, the fun of the gamble- will the new actor 'become' Bond?- adds another level of excitement.
While I agree with this to some extent, it only goes towards The Living Daylights and Goldeneye for me. Dr No is a terrific film indeed, but was surpassed by it's two follow ups. Live And Let Die was just... a mediocre mixed bag. I don't hate it, or Moore's performance, but it misses out on his later films, and what makes 007 a great film series. Casino Royale is a great action movie but not a Bond movie in my opinion. Both Skyfall and Spectre were more enjoyable to watch.
For the ones I do agree with, TLD is an amazing Bond film with the best Bond performance in a Bond movie. I loved the locations, cast, plot and score. While the villains aren't great, this is better than LTK simply because of M16 being more involved in 007's mission, and the excellent final score by John Barry.

Yep, all solid entries. Strangely enough Rog coasts through LALD. Probably the right thing to do - to get away from Sean's epic run...
