Good ol' Eon. They finally get a bonafide, interesting actor to play Bond, and the way they're going about it, he will need a walker by the time they get around to making his fifth film.
Baz Bamigboye of the Daily Mail reports that Purvis and Wade are finished giving the script "punch" and filming Will start in November/Desember. Good news! :007)

Apparently a lot of sources are reporting that the Bond 24 script is indeed complete and the movie has been officially greenlit. This is great news! So great I almost posted a new topic about it, but I'll just keep it on here for now.
Filming is slated to start in December so I would think we'll be getting some real news (casting, locations, title) trickling in within the next couple months.
Good news. Purvis and Wade were involved in all the previous Craig Bond films, so they must bring something good to the table. Sometimes as they say: "It takes a village to raise a child".

"The tough man of the world. The Secret Agent. The man who was only a silhouette." - Ian Fleming, Moonraker (1955).
The scene in Rome is supposed to be a big action/chase scene, right? And it's supposed to be filmed in December. Well, due to movie-making economics, EON won't start by filiming an action scene (which are costly). I'm betting filming starts by early November.

They started filming QoS with the horse race...that was a big action chase/scene...so it's not unheard of...
The second unit shot the horse race in August 2007 (before Forster even had a place for it in the movie) but the main unit didn't start shooting until January 2008 at Pinewood. According to Wikipedia, "From 4–12 April, the main unit shot on Sienese rooftops."

Ah, right...Wikipedia )
And how do you know Forster had no place for it in the movie ? Had you seen the script at that point ?

"When the company filmed the colorful horse races in Sienna, Italy, Forster wasn’t sure how he’d use them until he discovered the city’s underground Roman tunnels and cisterns."
"Italian line producer Guido Cerasuolo held a press conference in Siena on March 21st. He confirmed that the James Bond crew will be arriving on March 31st, with filming on the rooftops in Siena to commence on April 4th through april 12th."
According to an article in Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet, there were plans to film major scenes on the Svalbard (Spitzbergen) islands. But after the Purvis/Wade rewrites the scenes will probably shift to the Austrian alps. Their source is Jason Roberts, an Australian who lives on Spitzbergen and workes to facilitate film production there. He worked on the Svalbard scenes in "The Golden Compass", a film starring Daniel Craig. Jason Roberts and others working in Norwegian film production are still working on getting Bond to the islands. We don't really know if the script was changed because Norway was to expensive or the location changed because the story changed.
Svalbard is a group of islands far North of the Artic circle. After the 1st WW the territory has ben Norwegian, but several other nations have rights there. As result there is a permament Russian settlement on Spitzbergen. The landscape is stunning and different from mainland Norway. Polar bears live there. The kindergardens and schools have polar bear fences and you have to bring high-power guns if you move outside the major populated areas. As far as I know The Golden Compass is the only major movie to feature Svalbard/Spitzbergen, while the Austrian alps have been used several times. I shame if they end up showing a location hat has already been seen in Bond movies instead of something completely new.
The Bond production team asked for footage from Norway to look at, but most of the sequence is now locked to Austria. Some scenes are still not decided filming location on, and Norwegian film producers tries to move the filming of those scenes to Norway.

BTW: Autocorrect can go to hell X-(
In Austria there will be no polar bear fight, but is a bit of yodling to much to ask for?
Also, this just occurred to me, but has 007 ever been to Rome in a film? I don't believe he has. How did that happen??
