I'm a fan of Foyle's War and I've read and liked both House of Silk and some of the Alex Rider novels, so this is great news indeed!
I also like that it's set in the 50's, Solo showed us some of the horrors of a contemporary Bond.

Just when you thought there wasn't anything left of Ian Fleming's work we didn't know about, they come forward with plot outlines that were to be used in a possible James Bond tv series that never happened.
You know, Ian Fleming is still with us, even from beyond.
Just heard about this now, this is Great News!
I am already a fan of Anthony Horowitz, having remembered reading some of his Alex Rider Spy novels when I was younger. The House of Silk is a fantastic Sherlock Novel and he also writes a lot for television. He created the TV Show, Midsomer Murders, and wrote the first few series episodes. Also its been mentioned Foyles War, set in the 40's WW2. If you are interested though, the latest season of Foyles War is late 40's, Cold War era. Might be a taster of what is to be expected from Horowitz in the novel?

So... 13 story outlines minus 6 from existing stories leaves 7. FYEO, FAVTAK and "Risico" for sure were based on story outlines, I think TLD was too, leaves 3.
We know QoS wasn't, "007 in NY" and OP are unlikely to have been, and I believe "Rarity" and "Lady" weren't either. Take away MoW leaves 2 more outlines still to be used.
There's a bit of guesswork there of course!
I've read all of the Alex Rider books by Horowitz when I was younger and loved each one of them. He kept the action high in the books and suspense even higher. Just thinking about the books now makes me want to go and reread them.
With that in mind, I am very excited to read anything Horowitz will write about Bond, especially that they are using works never before seen from Fleming. SO EXCITED.

Mr Horowitz was interviewed on Radio 4 about 15 minutes ago- mainly about his new Sherlock Holmes book, but he was asked about Bond too. Confirmed that he's about halfway through, it's set in the 20th Century, stated that he had a good relationship with IFP, and refused to divulge the title (said he wasn't allowed to).
I personally have yet to read ANY of the young Bonds (Boo! Hiss!) But I will eventually )
To be honest I bought them when they came out but I've not read any of them either as I thought the concept was a bad idea although I gather they are good reads so what do I know! )
