He drove an Aston Martin DB111 in Goldfinger and a Bentley in Thunderball so it will be interesting to see which direction he takes.
Sir Stirling came 5th at the German Grand Prix in a Vanwall so no opportunity to debut the Aston Martin DBR1 unless the race he features in the book is the 1000KM when Moss drove it to victory with Jack Brabham - or maybe James Bond?

Good question. Personally I hope for an E type Jaguar.
I love the e-type and consider it to be the greatest car ever built. That said, unfortunately it didn't debut until 1961 and TM is set in '57.
A great Jaguar choice would be the XK120 but I think Horowitz is a purist and will probably have gone with Bentley.
I do hope that the selected marque partners with the publisher and does a special edition of 'Trigger Mortis'.
I recently took delivery of the exclusive Bentley edition of 'Casino Royale' and it's absolutely fabulous!
Regarding the title Trigger Mortis we have to remember that 'Trigger Finger' was an early title for Ian Fleming's 'The Living Daylights', which of course starred a female assassin called "Trigger". -{ -{
Trigger Mortis would have made a good chapter title but IMO remains a terrible choice of main title. IMHO a case of someone trying a little too hard.
On the other hand: Devil May Care, Solo and Carte Blanche were quite good titles (especially DMC) and they turned out to be not very good novels. Let's hope this one turns out to be a pageturner! Personally I have pre-orered it for my Kindle. :007)

im conflicted on the issue. On one way, digital strains my eyes, and there is the offchance that kindle will tank like enron one day, but on the other, it saves space. I also like to flip pages as opposed to scroll. Yet being able to digitally bookmark the page is convenient. X-( all these conflictions are exactly whats preventing me from getting the books. I could actually buy the mass market paperbacks for like .30 cents at the used book store, but i found out they are abridged even though it says they aren't. now im thinking about buying the new 2012 editions of the Fleming books, the ones with those cool jazzy covers but they are the most expensive
I'm very much an old fart when it comes to books and must have the real thing, not a Kindle thingey. I read that last Christmas season, Kindle sales were practically nil which suggests that people who want book readers already have them. That won't necessarily effect the publication of e-books as it costs publishers practically nothing to publish in that format, but it will likely give manufacturers pause for thought before manufacturing more units. I don't think they're going to disappear anytime soon, but I wouldn't be surprised if the stand-alone e-reader does disappear and people who still want to read e-books will instead use smartphones tablets etc.

Yes I love "real" books but love the convenience of an electronic book. -{

I like having the Kindle in the jacket pocket, with lots of books on my fingertips. I can read perfectly in the sunlight or in bed without a lamp. It still can't beat a real book with pages you can touch and smell, not to mention good illustrations.

Maybe not, but a really powerful alien force could send down waves of gamma rays from a distant galaxy and wipe everyone's e-readers clean, but they'd be hard pressed to make every book disappear! B-)
Great news from Charlie Higson. He tweets that TM is everything you could want from a Bond book.
This gives me great confidence.
Charlie's YB books are amazing and he, along with Horowitz was one of my top choices to take up the mantle. He really understands the literary Bond and did a marvellous job fleshing out the back story whilst giving us some great adventures. If he says it's great it will be. At last, after all IFP's misfires with the adult franchise, we have something to look forward to!
