Do the Connery films( DN,FRWL,GF,TB) seem dated to you?

I don't think so personally,but I first read DR NO the year before the movie version came out. I'd be interested in your opinions and reasoning either way.
Thanks in advance.

Give a feel to the era Fleming was writing in . although if you compare
Them to other films of the time, they look more contemporary. -{
Wait until Blackleiter sees this thread.
He'll slap you badly
However I'd argue that he never left the 60s ) ) )
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
I did not see the Bond movies in chronological order, of course. First was OP. Then AVTAK, MR. Then I rented DN, and I must admit it felt dated. Of course I realised the cars, clothes, the hair styles, etc, were different, but I think it had more to do with the stunts (or lack thereof compared to 80s movies), lack of gadgets, no Q, the music (Monty Norman's score is pure 50s, but from the Bond theme arranged by Barry).
Then I saw FRWL, GF and TB and they didn't feel dated, even though they were made with 1-3 years difference. More stunts, gadgets, and John Barry's scores made them feel modern.
I guess the 80s have that effect )
Much of the Bond films is set in areas of natural beauty (Crab Key, the Swiss Alps, underwater etc) which just don't date, but in the urban scenes like Kentucky in GF, or some of the scenes outside Shrublands in TB, it looks dated. Again, classic cars like the Aston don't date, but Lippe's vehicle does.
NSNA is an example of a horribly dated movie, but even then they don't have topical references to the current President by name.
Some of the more gimmicky films like TB and YOLT date, because the latest thing always does.
Roger Moore 1927-2017
No - LTK is crap
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Surely better then NSNA!
Contemporary as more modern film, but I'd hardly say
Dated. As in a way we get to travel back in time to the
Early 60s. -{
I also watch many of the old Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes
Movies, in b/w set in the 40s, not contemporary but still brilliant. -{
NSNA, on the other hand, just looks dated, and irredeemably so. It will never be confused with classic!
I beg to differ :v
Ok, TLD and NSNA are crap as well
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
TLD & LTK being stunning examples of the Bond film. {[]
As others have pointed out, Dear Higgins, the Connery films are "classic", not "dated". Like me!
I know you changed something, sonny - just wish I could remember where I put my bifocals so I could see it!
Thanks. Can you ask him if he has my teeth, too? )
The Connery/60s films are the only ones that don't seem too dated. There's something about the pared down style of the clothes that's never out of fashion, and Connery has a timeless look about him that works in every decade- sadly unlike Sir Roger's clothes, or Dalton's LTK haircut (and also Brosnan's Goldeneye hairdo) for example.
However some of the gadgetry in the60s films looks a bit dated now, such as the FRWL scene with Bond using a hideous Bakelite car phone... But that's to be expected.
Cutting edge, then old fashioned, then modern again
( before Mobile phones) and now it looks like a curiosity.
( I know a simple typo but funny )
The memory thing comes to all of us of a certain age.
