Anyone here watch Peaky Blinders? A friend recommended it to me, but it is not very well-known in the US. I'm trying to decide whether or not to invest time with it, so any opinions would be welcome. Thanks.
The eagle eyed (or Norwegian ) viewer may have noticed Ingrid Bolsø Berdal playing the outlaw Armistice in Westworld. She was considered in the role of Madeleine Swann in SPECTRE.
Circling back on this...
Don't know if you have seen Westworld, Number24, but in this past Sunday's season finale, lovely Ingrid does wonderful work. Her character Armistice is given many great moments -- some subtle, some as unsubtle as you can get -- and Ingrid nails all of them. Awesome stuff! {[]
Re: Westworld, the producers only got the go-ahead from HBO for a second season about 6 weeks ago so had not begun anything production-related. Takes a while to ramp up anything this big, given Sir Miles's point about a far-flung cast of in-demand actors, as well as the quite elaborate and large sets. Plus, everyone has been involved with publicity for Season 1, and that may pick up again in the summer during the lead-up to the Emmy nominations and awards.

She reminds me of Diana Darvey - especially in that outfit

Have been watching my favourite chef Rick Stein latest series ,Rick Steins long week end ,This week he was off to Palermo in Sicily.
Rick manages to combine a touch of history ,with of course his flair for finding that regions best food .I like Ricks attitude to food ,good sized honest portions ,no non sense grub ,I cant stand all these up your own a*** chefs , who put enough food on your plate ,that would normaly fill half a sandwich .
Just re-watched the second episode of The Grand Tour, the one in which they go on a special

Seen this year.

Shooter on Netflix just brilliant. I loved the film with Mark Wahlburg and the book : point of impact which was written decades ago .
Some really good documentaries: Battle Castle, secrets of British castles and the Stuarts rebellion
In Plain Sight. A 3-part true story about the serial killer Peter Manuel who killed 9 people in Scotland in the 1950's. Starring Douglas Henshall as the detective. I found it to be gripping but also quite bizarre that I had never heard about this case - usually serial killers are well known in the media.
Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
I just want to say how awful the TV has been over Christmas ... it's like the terrestrial channels have stopped trying.
Yeah I totally agree. Almost as if they think if we want to watch any decent festive TV or films we will just stream them. And they can just show repeats or stick on Harry Potter again or titanic again or the hobbit again just to fill a few hours. I've enjoyed witness for the prosecution and Roald Dahl revolting rhymes and that is it! In fact I went and bought a now TV box yesterday for our bedroom just to have something to watch in bed, very poor show. I simply can't see how the BBC can justify the licence fee these days.
It's a few years since I watched Kellys heroes. Always been a favourite but I'd forgotten just how good it is, soundtrack, action, locations and some bloody good performances

Although I believe Series 2 will not be shown until 2018 !
No idea...I'm assuming it's getting the cast together again at the same time...it was reported on BBC Radio 2 news.
Just finished it.
Bit slow at times but excellent performances from Roth and Morton.
