Yeah I totally agree. Almost as if they think if we want to watch any decent festive TV or films we will just stream them. And they can just show repeats or stick on Harry Potter again or titanic again or the hobbit again just to fill a few hours. I've enjoyed witness for the prosecution and Roald Dahl revolting rhymes and that is it! In fact I went and bought a now TV box yesterday for our bedroom just to have something to watch in bed, very poor show. I simply can't see how the BBC can justify the licence fee these days.

It's lazy scheduling as far as I'm concerned! I'll make a bet now. I bet the holiday with Cameron Diaz, Jude law etc is aired some point in Feb or March with Halloween being aired in summer some point.

Today I watched Bob Monkhouse: The Last Stand that I had recorded from BBC4 - brilliant entertainment...if you like comedy then I highly recommend you catch this show - can't praise it highly enough -{
On the same channel, last night they had Searching for 007, a doc with lots of footage of Bond from the BBC archives, though it seemed I'd seen a lot of it before, possibly on the Everything or Nothing movie released at the time of Skyfall. The format here was very much the same; John Barry's brilliant music used to enhance virtually everything.

I've also realised what's been missing from Christmas for the past few years ....
The fact that there has been nothing to remotely compare to M&W since their heyday shows how brilliant they were. They didn't need to resort to swearing for laughs either. Only Laurel and Hardy could compare to them as a double act.

You can see that Ant and Dec are heavily influenced by Eric and Ernie but they are a different kind of act .... they do 'borrow' heavily from them though.
Watched Sherlock on the BBC iPlayer and thought it was trying to be too clever for it's own good. I will watch the next one but the series is becoming a little too much up it's own backside and it may be the last I watch.

They've been doing this for a couple of years now...probably longer...the whole Sherlock series is being shown in the cinema and a few Doctor Who episodes have been shown this way as well...
