Who Should Score Bond 24?

We now know that Sam Mendes will be directing Bond 24 and along with him it is most likely to be the return of Thomas Newman to score the film.

Although I thought Newman did a good job of Skyfall, it was not an amazing soundtrack.

One composer I have been listening to recently is Brian Tyler who I think would do a fantastic job with a Bond soundtrack.

He has recently done quite a few of the Marvel films and recently did the TMNT film with Megan Fox. The music of this film was by far the greatest part of this film.

If Christopher Nolan was ever to direct (which I hope will happen) he would more than likely bring the likes of Hans Zimmer with him - however I think we are a long way from this ever happening.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

T Newman is, Sam Mendez composer, he always uses him, so I'd say
Old Tom will be back ;) although I liked Skyfall so I'd be happy enough
    but I'd much rather have David Arnold doing them. -{

I quite like Thomas Newman's score for Skyfall, there's some really good stuff (examples being Jellyfish and The Bloody Shot). Like Thunderpussy, I anticipate Newman will return for Bond 24. Given the choice though I'd also prefer David Arnold. He captured the Bondian sound/essence that the late great John Barry created pretty well, and I enjoy all his scores to a greater or lesser degree.

Bond movies have to have a signature mark to say " I am a bond film " the soundtrack is key to this identity , and a signature soundtrack in the style of Barry is one of the things that separates bond from Bourne and Reacher ect.
If this disappears then so will Bond and his trademark style.

Agreed Projectorman. The "sound of Bond" has been very important
To the success of the series. {[]

Part of me would like an industrial-like theme mixed by Nine Inch Nails and Rick Rubin and the theme sung by Lana Del Rey.

    Not gonna happen lol.

Pretty much an open secret but now Thomas Newman is confirmed. As I stated in my previous post, I quite like the score for Skyfall. I am hoping he will at least match, preferably surpass it this time around. Best of luck to him.

I really enjoyed Newman's score for "Skyfall", it was different in comparison to Arnold's previous two but it was great - perfectly fitted the movie. Zimmer would not be a great choice - he's an awesome composer, probably my favourite one, but his music is either too heavy for a Bond film (say: "Inception", Pirates of the Caribbean", "The Dark Knight" - a lot of horns and heavy drums) or way too experimental ("Interstellar" being a good example - honestly I can't say if I even like it one or not).

Michael Giaccino may be an awesome choice in the future because he resembles John Williams in a lot of ways, but I don't know if that's the sound a Bond film needs also.

Brian Tyler ended up as one of my favourite composers (along with the aforementioned Zimmer), his work on "Iron Man 3" was decent and I can't wait to hear him back in "Avengers: Age of Ultron". Guy has a talent to create some remarkable themes, which is interesting because he started somewhere in the first "Fast and Furious" movie and that one was pretty vapid. However still don't know if that's the tune we're looking for.

Alexandre Desplat may be also a good choice.

    Made my day! LOL

Michael Giaccino is a fan of John barry.
He scored the pixar film The incredibles, which Brad Bird originally wanted John barry to compose, he sadly refused. Barry's score for OHMSS was used in a trailer and Giaccino's score thorughout the film resembles his 1960's big brass tunes

I'm so glad that Thomas Newman is returning to do Spectre's soundtrack. I bloody loved Newman's soundtrack to Skyfall - it sounded hauntingly beautiful at times. I adored it. It's definitely my favourite Bond soundtrack.

Favourite Bond films: QUANTUM OF SOLACE, SKYFALL and THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS
