Hi Guys,
With Chrimbo fast approaching (Bah Humbug Sir!), our thoughts turn to the Festive Bond...On Her Majesty's Secret Service

New in from QDT and The Monte Calme Collection come these incredibly rare Corgi gift sets @ £7000 for the Rockets and £9500 for the illusive Juniors set which by all intents and purposes appears to be in unopened condition and is the finest example this collector has ever seen -{

    Forgive me, I have no clue what "QDT" or "The Monte Calme Collection" are.

    QDT are a specialist diecast dealer based in Wales in Gt Britain. Monte Calme is a collector of just about everything Corgi, Husky & Dinky ever made from the 1950's to the last Corgi models made in Gt Britain before production switched to China when production went up and quality very much went down :#

    Don't know what mr. Calme does for a living, but he has collected a jawdropping amount of (super) rare Corgi items, both Bond and non-Bond.

    See what you mean about QDT: £300 for a FYEO window medallion that I paid maybe £10 for? Looks for the most part that he's redefined 007 as a license to gouge.

    Totally disagree my friend. I've been dealing with QDT for a couple of years now. Their customer service is second to none and they turn up the rare sometimes one of a kind goods. Their prices tend to be set by those who consign with them on commission. The difference between QDT & the auction houses is simple...no buyers premium which can add 20-25% to the selling price. The two OHMSS gift sets currently consigned to them are perhaps expensive but they are the finest examples I have ever seen & their price and rarity reflects that fact and I wouldn't mind betting that they probably supplied them to Mr Calme in the first place?

    Donk -{

    Very nice! What is Chrimbo...Christmas for Bimbos?
    We celebrate Festivus, as we are fans of the Seinfeld Series.
    Cheers,
    Tom
    PS would have to sell the Aston to buy the Corgis!

    Sorry "my friend" but £300 for that disc is absurd. I think the asking prices on the OHMSS sets are not outside the realm of possibility but if you look at the history on Vectis, et al, they've done about half that and even with a 20% premium, still below QDT.

    These are now reserved, which basically means 'waiting for payment.'

    The Rockets went for £5000, the Juniors for £8000, offers made by the same person.
