Craig Trilogy Makes More Sense

Casino Royale was an excellent Bond film, Quantum of Solace so-so, and Skyfall pretty good. Not a bad track record, even if it did take them too long to make and release them. But, until now, the films seemed to be paddling around in a circle. All three essentially got us to the same place at the end -- "Now we're ready to start making traditional Bond films again."
But with the announcement of Spectre, and the apparent and much needed return of SPECTRE, it makes sense. Essentially, they've done in reverse what the last 30 years of Bond films did -- try to distance themselves from the 1960s Bonds with Connery. Spectre essentially will bring us back to the start, perhaps taking us into a second golden age of spectacle Bond films.
I wish they'd hurried. Craig isn't getting any younger, and they could have squeezed a fourth film in the gap of time between Casino Royale and now. But if they make at least one more with Craig after Spectre -- and my real hope is for at least two more -- then it will have been worth it, especially if the films are good.

The new Bond universe they established so far is great, less campy and almost seems to go into more detail in a lot of ways.
I really wish Quantum of Solace was a better movie than what it ended up being. It had some real potential to be an absolute great follow up to the great Casino Royale. The same with Diamonds are Forever really, that could have been an awesome revenge story follow up... Quantum still holds up as one of the worst Bond movies for me. I read in some thread the other day that Thunderpussy said: "It took me several viewings and a re-reading of the novell to finally understand and appreciate the true essence of Quantum of Solace." (Something along those lines)
I cannot say I discovered that essence myself and I really hope it will grow on me a bit more someday, I would really like someone to show me the light in that movie. Other than that, I think both Casino Royale and Skyfall were masterpieces. Both of the ending scenes in those movies give me goosebumbs everytime! They were just solid entries. I like how the kept some continuity in the new Bond universe so far as well. (The same Felix Leiter, the picture of Vesper, Bond being heartbroken and therefor coldhearted. Although there seem to be continuity errors so far as well. Bond won the DB5 at a Poker game in Casino Royale for example. Yet in Skyfall his car has got the ejector seat button from Goldfinger installed...
Anyway, I don't really know where i'm going with this post, just several thoughts put in one....
