I was just about to post this same link as I had just finished reading the article. Very interesting and a must-read!!

I have no problem whatsoever with product placement in the Bonds. Fleming himself used brands to ground his hero's outlandish escapades in real life as much as possible. In fact, my own novel series (although still in its infancy as I'm writing the second one) borrows this page from Ian Fleming's playbook, and I'm happy to do it. Therefore, Bond can continue to crash through Heineken beer trucks )

I think it depends. Products do mean a lot to people; you can visualise the sort of person who shops at Asda and the sort of person that shops at Marks and Spencer and they are very different people. If you are the sort of person who shops in Waitrose and M and S, you would not be seen dead in an Asda store. For people who pride themselves on their good taste, brands are important and even aspirational. As long as the brands are the aspirational sort of brands, I have no issue with it.
look what arrived 10 mins ago...the SPECTRE Bollinger! :007)
more pics tomorrow in my collection thread!
Nice! I've been looking for it here in Toronto but due to our eighteenth century view of alcohol sales here in Ontario (LCBO ) no one at any store I've gone to has heard of this let alone seen one. It wouldn't surprise me sadly if it's not sold here.
Enough ranting...
How much is it and where did you get it? Thinking I may have to travel to Quebec or the States to get mine.
Pussy Galore: “My name is Pussy Galore.”
Bond: “I must be dreaming.”

Yeah I saw that last week on the SAQ website. Said it would be available October 1. Problem is I don't really want to drive 6 hours and then have to check a bunch of SAQ's hoping they have one.
LCBO website still doesn't even list the Belvedere Spectre bottle that I found at exactly 1 store out of 6 that I visited last week.
Pussy Galore: “My name is Pussy Galore.”
Bond: “I must be dreaming.”
Managed to get a bottle of the spectre belvedere last night whilst getting milk and bread. Safe to say it's the most expensive bread and milk shop I've ever done.
For European collectors: the razor is available through Amazon.de, they will ship within Europe.
Just found a few of these in Superdrug. Have to say I wasn't impressed and I left without purchasing one - £14.95 by the way. I couldn't open the box as it was wired up with some sort of alarm usually reserved for electrical items, but it was immensely light and was akin to an almost empty cereal box...

My local ASDA had them in last week...£19 though I agree, very light box...
I'm halfway tempted at your price...only because I fancy a new razor...
Comes with 4 blades I seem to recall - wasn't paying that much close attention to the blurb on the box, was just looking it over for any mention of Spectre and save for the title down the one side, I couldn't see anything more on it. The razor certainly has nothing "Spectre" or 007 on it.

It's only two blades...a can of shaving foam too...nothing 007 or SPECTRE related other than the box.

Your Quebec friend again. The Bollinger is available in Montreal and Quebec City only. Limited quantities.

Depending on the day ahead, sometimes it helps.

It looks like there is another bottle... the 007 Silver Sabre version - £160!

I have to say, the belvedere website is shocking... all substance but really confusing - and NOT user friendly!
I'm seriously thinking of investing in one of these... as they look great -{
the only problem is the shipping since they're big
Last month the webstore didn't even have a standard bottle for sale - outrageous lol
Well one is black... or rather a polished metallic finish, the illuminating one is normal glass (or frosted) and lights up at the bottom.
never got any information out of their website...
I agree their website is ****... but there is a description on each bottle... although I can't see the illuminating one, I found that on Amazon )
I got mine from 31dover!
