For those who are not aware, I have spent the last two months researching BMT216A and FMP7B. Part of that research unearthed this 50 year old gem first broadcast by the BBC 17th September 1964....Enjoy...Donk bloody well did -{

    Have you read Dave Worrall's book "The Most Famous Car in the World" ?
    It came out a while ago but it's pretty comprehensive.
    Wish they could put these programmes on BBC4. I can't play them.

    cheers, Bleuville.

    You might know the answer, but what colour was the DB5 in The Saint before it was repainted for Goldfinger? Was it used in anything else?

    BMT216A was originally red. It was AML's factory test car specified as a DB4 Vantage. My research has been enlarging upon the already available excellent reference material compiled by Mr Dave Worrall -{

    I once saw a picture of a red DB5 with the number plate BMT216A. I thought to myself "Some chopper has gone and stuck a Bond plate on a red DB5 - how amateur".

    Now I feel it may have been a pre GF photo

    The dubonnet red DB5 was used on all pre-release press materials from AML. Interestingly the image on the front cover of AML's "Top Secret" Specification of the James Bond Aston Martin leaflet was the prototype pre-Bond dubonnet red car, note the rectangular spot lights below the bumper & lack of revolving number plate housing. This was also the exact same image on the cover of AML's DB5 sales brochure -{
