Best 007 opening credit sequence

One of my favorite parts of watching any Bond film is the opening credit sequence. Every time one starts I feel myself get excited. I am curious which are peoples favorites/ least favorite and why -{

This might be an unusual choice because it's mostly a montage of scenes from previous Bond films, but I love the opening credit sequence from OHMSS. Something about seeing those iconic images with that fantastic John Barry instrumental title tune blaring really gets me going.

I is not at all! That would be my second chioce behind the opening of CR. I love how in the opening of OHMSS it almost a love letter from the creator to the entire franchise.

I loved the "Alice in Wonderland" feel about the credits. When I saw CR in theaters i felt as if I was falling down a rabbit hole.

DN.- The circles motif, just after the first gunbarrel, is great. It might be just me, but the Bond theme never sounded louder as in the DN credits. It's a little disappointing that it ends with a calypso, but the rest is great.

OHMSS.- The hourglass motif is fantastic. So are the images of previous movies. An early nostalgic look at the Connery years. The OHMSS theme is my favourite John Barry Bond music. I should have been used more often (as the inferior "007" theme was).

LALD.- The exploding heads and skulls in flames are very suggestive. And I love the title song.

Right. It works as reassurance. "Yes, even though it's another guy, you'll have the girls, villains, action...". Wisely, they never show Connery. By LALD they didn't even show Moore in the PTS!

I've got to go for Moores PTS in LALD.

We had the UN, Bourbon Street, Voodoo ceremony in good succession which quickly sets up the premise. Then the music starts and we segue into Paul McCartneys song.

If we're talking about the Pre-Credit Sequence, then I'd also go for OHMSS - I love the way Lazenby us introduced via Bond's accessories - his cigarette case, lighter, Aston etc; followed by one of the best fight sequences in the series.

If Credit sequences themselves, then I'm with TP - I love the Skyfall titles, the red and black, the tombstones, stags etc - accompanied by the excellent Adele theme.

Pre credits scene fir me is TWINE. Because if the Q Boat chase, though its only just nosing its bow in front if many of the others, inc GF, OHMSS, THB, TSWLM, FYEO, TLD, TND, DAD and CR-06.

For the titles themselves I also love CR-06. Def my favorite. The playing cards motif, an integratal part if Bond from the books and films works very well. Chris Cornell's song is a tailored fit to Bond's genesis in the story and it has a rocky vibe which makes a refreshing change of song pace.
Seconded by TND, simply because I was a media student when it was released, so its visuals of tv screens and transmission data still feel so personally apt to the time!
Third, YOLT. The motifs of Japan and its people are creatively done with the volcano as a framing device. The song is a nice fit too.

Dislikes? - AVTAK. I have learned to appreciate lot from Sir Rogers final turn as Bond, but the titles still feel like a cheaper effort with the luminous paint, streamers and guns that look like water pistols! It doesn't hold up like Dr N's polka dots and dancers or GF's golden lady which although simple in application, creates a classic memorable image. Shame as I love Duran Duran too.

QoS for opposite reasons. The visuals of the desert and data are clever but the song completely ruins them. Its brash, noisy and jarring which wrestles with the visuals instead of accompanying them. Damned shame.

LALD is not a dislike, but the voodoo stuff bothered me as a kid, so it still creeps me a bit now. Creative and unforgetable, but spooky as hell!

For overall effect, I'd say Casino Royale. This is one of the few times you'll hear me say the modern version is better than the classic. Next would be OHMSS, followed by Goldfinger, YOLT, and Thunderball.

A View To A Kill Opening Title Sequence is kind of fun. Ladies skiing with fire around ice sculptures. To quote the motto form the much respected eating establishment, "Hooters," it is "delightfully tacky." It sums up the excess and ridiculousness of the Roger Moore era.

Nothing beats the visceral kick in the bollocks of DC turning and shooting and the gunbarrel opening up with YKMN blasting out. Probably the most thrilling moment I've experienced as a Bond fan in the cinema.

A superb and stylish re-imagining for a new era of the Bond credit sequence which, lets be honest, had become as cliched as all the Dr Evil stuff that EON will presumably be desperate to avoid in SP.

CR, but I like AVTAK with its title music and bright colours. GE has a nice one to, and so does TND. And even though I don't like the film, DN is ok as well. But the worst ones IMO: TWINE and DAD.

Die Another Day is one of my favourite's (though I do not have a particular favourite). It is a much maligned film, but the title sequence is one of the genuine highlights, IMO. The scorpions, the female figures of fire, ice and lightning intermingled with scenes of Bond's torture is very impressive visually. OK, so Madonna's title song is an acquired taste, but I am one of those who thinks it is more than decent.

How come nobody mentioned GE's opening titles yet? (I think )

I think the symbolizing of the end of the cold war was great for the new era of the 'modern Bond' It's also a great transition as a first \ modern' opening credit sequence
