It's always a clash of opinions....I'm not really sure why people get so hung up on politics....you can't change it and you can't please even 50% of the voters....

I did not want to get political, but now I do.

With all respect to you and your situation, this fatalism pisses me off!

    1. There are people who say that we are lead by shadow governments which are ran by some superpowers (be it companies or other groups). OK, let's accept this for a moment: Should we all accept it?

    2. There are groups who believe that all our politicians and media lie on us and are doing their own thing! If that's true, we only have 2 ways to deal with it: Accept it or do something against it

3.There are people who are fed up with politics and don't vote anymore. But the same people moan about the above conditions. Does not voting change? You may object if voting changes and I'd reply that this is the only possible way out of misery.

We've heard this kind of **** over the last decades and every silly idiot has the right to publish a niche book or write some of his thoughts on the internet.

All this fatalism makes me sad and on the same time it makes me upset.

We would still ride horses and live in the dark, if people have accepted all this. Instead some people DID something.

And DOING SOMETHING is the ONLY WAY to change the things that you rightfully or wrongly complain.

Now you will ask me what to do and I will not be able to give you an universe reply for it. But one thing is certain:
Sitting here moaning and doing nothing will be the worst alternatives of ALL!

I used to be a non voter, until like Higgins ( and his little rant) I realised
If things were going to change, I'd have to do something !
So I'm putting all my resources ( almost £4.75) into voting next time, it
Won't be for any of the main parties, I'm giving someone else a go ! :)

I'm actually not moaning about it...yes, voting changes nothing...moving away from the horse and electric light has NOTHING to do with politics....
I vote - I think it should be compulsory to do so, but with a box so you can vote for 'none of the above'....Governments change, the lies remain...

Use your vote as someone else is using theirs. People died to keep the UK a 'one person, one vote' democracy - we should exercise our democratic right and vote - for whatever party or candidate we feel matches our outlook politically and socially. :)

I often listen to Radio 4 myself, even though I don't live in London. Some of the comedy is brilliant.

I have an interest in politics but proper politics not the
shouting at each other, making jokes, that we have over here.
I'd love to be able to vote Con or Lab etc.
Although every so often some politician does say something
sensible, and I think we might just have a chance ! :D

Well I suppose the equivalents to those in NI are the UUP or SDLP, still representing the sectarian divide of course, although both parties are much more moderate than the likes of the DUP and Sinn Fein. The mainland parties have little hope of winning/intention of standing here, though there are NI Conservatives remember. :)

What irritates me the most about politics is that we seem to have forgot who works for who.

We live in 'freedom' where we can gripe about things but ultimately what's decided by government stands, and to hell with you if you don't like it. Freedom?

Equally, it makes my piss steam when I see MP's in the commons debating stuff like school kids in the playground. It's not even 'here here' anymore, it's more like a half-pissed 'yeaarhhh!' whenever anyone gets caught out on the other side. These arseholes are making decisions that effect hundreds and thousands, sometimes millions of people, the least they could do is discuss matters more constructively instead of acting like a bunch of playground bullies taunting each other.
