The sleeves are a different material from the others by the looks of it? I've ordered one anyway. If I'm not happy I'll return or I'll sell on here. Fingers crossed it's ok.

Is anyone else just unBELIEVABLY HACKED OFF with the change in prices that TF have imposed on us in the States?????? I know that it's not John Guidry's fault, and that the edict has come from on high. But we all paid huge sums, UP FRONT, in good faith, and now we're being asked to stump up even more, much, much, more, to get hold of these pieces.....What's even crazier, is that the price for a Polo shirt is £100 cheaper now here in the UK. Look, I know this is a prime example of a First World Problem, and it's a bit like saying that your diamond shoes are pinching a bit, but, come the F@*K ON........ X-( X-( X-( X-( X-( X-(

Wow bizarre!!!! What reason are they giving??

Im guessing UK prices are same as previous.

Blair, I'm feeling your angst as well. But I'm trying to remain optimistic about the TF situation and hope that some kind of resolution will be made. As of now, I still have not been contacted directly by TF and told of this pricing error, so that's why I'm hopeful. My credit card was charged back in July for the Blouson. And we were given the retail prices directly from a representative of TF. Surely, they must honor that as it is in writing. If not, hopefully a "mutually beneficial" resolution can be made. If they simply say 'no, this is the price,' then I will seriously consider withdrawing my order and demanding a full refund immediately. And TF will have lost a customer, and not just for this order.

    Kind regards,
    Craig

Guys, let your feet do the talking as the old saying goes... This is an abominable state of affairs and they should be cherishing a customer base such as yours who not only buy the clobber but influence others to do the same...

The Polo is now $960. Good grief? For what it is worth, I was told the Jacket and the Polo were the only two pieces listed as incorrect in the buy book.

did TF perhaps underestimate the amount of interest in these items and upped the pricing or something?

This is what John Guidry said in his email to me:

"Unfortunately their (sic) was a mistake in the production communication of the Bond nylon jacket and the company has increased the price of it. The jacket was originally $1690 and its now $2590. The polos were $620 and now they're $960. Even more unfortunate the decision to honor the price for everyone who has already pre-ordered the jacket was taken out of my hands. The company has notified me that in order to sell the jacket and polo we have to sell them at the corrected increased price. I am deeply sorry for this and I completely understand if you no longer want the items that you have reserved. Please let me know how you wish to proceed and I will act accordingly.

It's all total bullshit. Can't make enough money by selling a polo for only $650??? Serious??? X-(

Wow! That is really f***ed up! Shame on you, TF! So much for customer loyalty and all that sh**. I was considering going into their BH boutique and getting fitted for a suit, but now I am going to take my business elsewhere.

There's no reason why a cotton and viscose blend polo should even cost $650. The prices for the tailored clothing make sense, but not anything else.

Wow, Tom Fords behaviour is astonishing, a clear case of manipulating their customers in the spike prior to the films release. Personally, I like the look of a lot of the clothes, especially the more affordable ones, but am definately pragmatic about what is reasonable and what is not. There are some pretty good close alternatives to some of the frankly average (and some hideous) TF creations out there which I think there is as much fun chasing. IMHO I think there is more to be had in the spirit of the dress sense than identically copying the clothes picked out by Jany Tamime. No operational officer in his right mind would pick half of those clothes. The Polo shirt is truly laughable at $650, the emporers new clothes indeed.

I hope that a lot of these TF lines gather dust on shelves and turn into mothballs before getting picked up years down the line. Their attitude to those who have made down payments in good faith only to be chinned off with thinly veiled contempt via the conduit of some poor customer services person deserves a boycott if ever there was a reason. Taking the p*ss.

Yes, excellent shout re the Boss alternative! I got one as I'd never even contemplate buying TF's Moncler rip off at $1600 let alone $2500...

I've never had anything but a bad experience at TF. I'll never spend money direct with them again. The fact they rip other peoples designs really grates too.

I did wonder why the nylon blouson was £1450 from TF London, when I expected it to be around £1000, based on the original $ price. Now I understand why.

The jacket is bad enough, but price of the polo does seem beyond ridiculous for what it is.

Yeah the US blouson cost difference had me stumped also - now I know why.

They should honour their **** up though to prepaid customers

I have no dog in this TF issue, but the circumstances do highlight how good businesses like Wested Leather are, making stuff for TV and film, then knocking out nicely priced stuff to the fans with their replicas.

That's a good business model TF should perhaps take up. Make their money out of the movie productions they supply, to off set reasonably priced items for the fans. Its certainly earned Peter and Wested a lot of loyalty amongst Indy Gear fans over the years.

I did say it had buttons unlike the tom ford.

I do agree the smedley is more accurate and is a budget alternative, but for over £100 on a polo shirt, some may not consider that budget. I would also rather spend £80 on a sunspel Riviera. But that's personal preference.

    That's really nice! -{

The trick with JS stuff is to sign up to their email alerts, because they fairly regularly have 20% off codes. Next one will probably be for Black Friday at the end of November. Plus that polo will end up on sale at some point and if it isn't that popular they can take as much as 50% of the RRP.

Shame of it is, that shirt won't fit my pot belly :))

At this point this £100 John Smedley really IS looking like a budget alternative!

Wow.... So sorry to the guys who are effected. I think they will get the hint when the Bond fans take there $ elsewhere. It really makes me appreciate even more N Peal, Billy Reid, and the other brands that have embraced the Bond fans.

was the price hike only for the blouson and polo? and what was their reason for jacking up the price?

I don't understand why Tom Ford would provide clothes for a film and then go do something like this to the fans. Isn't the whole reason for providing clothes to the films to generate some business from the people who see these films?

If we know the price of what something similar last season cost, that would tell us if the new price is a mistake.

I cancelled my order, after i got the information about the increased price.
This behaviour is absolutely not acceptable.
Even the Bond connection didn`t justify this.
