Yes me to-would like to know everything about that jacket, but moncler never responded!

Crikey! Does it have an official code or is it the same as what Harrods gives (was not sure if that code is Harrods own code or Monclers)

In my search to find another supplier (no luck except a dodgy HK scam site) I came across one on eBay from Xmas time. It sold for £77 (seller said it was too small I think)

    Nabbed the pics from eBay

It doesn't look like its worth almost $800, maybe $100.

    Looks nice,specially for £77
    What size it was?
  • welshboy78welshboy78 Posts: 10,320MI6 Agent
    Looks very thin indeed!!!

The closest Moncler alternative I found was this one - looks similar but a bit more heavy. Has a proper collar though so I guess unlikely to be SA

Well, I can get it on and zip it up, if I wear nothing but a t-shirt/vest, but it's still a bit tight around the body and tight around the neck, if zipped up fully.

    Some quick measurements from mine:

    Chest seam to seam: 20"
    Waist: 17"
    Back length: 23"

    Norcha - I'm about a 40" chest.
  • NorchaNorcha Posts: 148MI6 Agent
Yes from Holden measurements and sellers on eBay,it's very tight! Sleeves are just right!
    So might be Harrods exclusive.
  • NorchaNorcha Posts: 148MI6 Agent
In those ebay pictures, looks big. But from measurements so short.
Wonder,if he bought it around Xmas, why he didn't send it back or exchange, but sells it on eBay for £77.

Seems to be the case!! Not a good start - this is the cheaper "obtainable" stuff that is not Tom Ford lol

I guess always a chance its not Moncler but it looks 99% like the jacket unfortunately

If it's a harrods exclusive it won't be the one I wouldn't think, moncler have said contact there corporate site, which I am in the process of doing, but from what people are saying I think I would probably need a Large 40 possible and Extra Large 42.

Looks like my one will be going back to Harrods too :(

You really don't like the wardrobe that much? I'm just hoping the suits are tailored better than in Skyfall.

One good thing about the Montcler is that it will be dead easy for inexpensive replicas to be made. Hardly a piece requiring master craftsmanship.

Its not the wardrobe, sure it will be ok, and the pieces so far will grow on me when on screen... Just "feels" very secret in comparison to SF, QS AND CR. And the bits that were ID'd were relatively attainable...

So far, and agreed its early days, feels more unattainable and rare items.... Just me being a defeatist :))

I popped in a Moncler shop on Monday and had a look at the stuff and wasn't blown away in general, especially when you consider the prices. When you look at Canada Goose, Arcteryx or even someone like North Face, you immediately know that their items will keep you warm and dry. Canada Goose has become a designer label worn for fashion as much - or more - than for practicality, but it really is very practical and does the job that it was originally intended to do before it became 'in'. Montcler seems to be first and foremost a fashion label and their items - and their prices - suggest to me that their first aim is to look good and their products are focused more on the apres skier than the skier.

I wouldn't count on ANY sure thing brand identifiers yet. They will come, but I think its early days to be upset about Moncler etc until there is final proof. Just my .02....

    Hmm,I am 39" in chest.
But I"m 6ft so might be very short on me! Ideally my 40r would be spot on! Well done Harrods!
How's quality? Where is it made-Romania,Bulgaria? And you decided to send it back?

Pics of the Moncler. Pics are taken under artificial light, with flash. The colour in reality, is a dark navy/midnight, with dark brown leather trim.

I have to say that, whilst it has some nice details, it's the most overpriced 'potential' Bond outerwear of recent times. Considering this is three quarters of the current price of the TF QoS, cardigan, there is no comparison - TF are overpriced, but you can appreciate the quality, at least.

Welshboy, what make was this alternative? Was it a more commercially attractive option than the Moncler? Looks like a good substitute to me...

Still Moncler just a different style or season and just over half the price of the one in Harrods.
