Interested in getting the Persol 9714s but there are quite varied prices beyond the usual outlets. There are companies in Italy and Spain offering the same for 50-60 Euros less. Anyone got any experience of this company:
I may be wrong about this but the photo they're using is watermarked but they've not included all the watermark, and it appears to be for another site.
Doesn't fill me with confidence.
That said I believe most frames are made in Italy so not unreasonable a site would have them cheaper.
I bought a pair of 9714's from an Italian site and am delighted with both the shades and the service; tracked and prompt delivery and a good price.

My Spectre possible alternative arrived yesterday!! Great fit and for £100 a fair price for a close enough example to what DC seems to be wearing in the plane scenes photographed recently.
It's a great jacket with a nice fit , nice quality and lovely material. Difficult to obtain but worth it based on the price of the Moncler. I do like the outfit on show in the plane scenes so all being well I think I've got a fair jacket to add to this outfit.
Hope you like , I do!!

hey all! first post. where did we land on the Persol glasses from the press shoot? i'm on the brink of buying. i'm a huge mcqueen fan. actually named after him. so, naturally loved the 714's. however, the 9714's are a bit more modern. so i'm up in there about that, plus i'm up in the air about the sizes.
i don't see myself finding a store with my 4 options, so it's going to be a matter of ordering 2 and sending one back. i've got to choose 714 or 9714 and then.. narrow it down to size. any ideas on the size of the one's on DC at the press shoot?
Given the fit on his face I think DC has the 52 frame on. I have them in that size and they fit / hold great...
My Danner Quarry boots arrived. I grabbed the 8" brown (#14551 plain toe, 400g Thinsulate) in size 11EE (Danners version of wide). They fit true to size length wise, but width wise they feel more like a "standard E" width. Because of the extra insulation, it actually makes them fit/feel like a D width IMO. I grabbed them for $159 shipped in the US (sent to mailbox in the States and picked them up).
Great boots, nice and warm. Highly recommend them!
Guys, from what I can see the bottom half of this outfit -
Is the same as is worn in the actual filming shots here with (what we assume to be) the Tom Ford bomber jacket -
So if anyone can identify the boots and trousers you'll probably have yourselves the screen worn items.
Everyone seems to be jumping towards Danner for the boots because that's what DC wore in the press shots but I think the screen worn boots are more likely to be some Italian made, Norwegian welted climbing boots, Alico or Zamberlan springs to mind.
Did anyone ever identify these sunglasses?
Dont wait for your ship to come in. Swim out and meet the bloody thing.
i bought both the 52mm and the 55mm 9714's with the intention of trying them on, returning the one i didn't like. i almost immediately took to the 52's. the 55's feel a bit clunky and even loose on my face if i look down. they just seem like a modernized version of the 714's.
also, what exactly is that 100 pound alternative? it looks quite nice.
and if anyone is thinking about a pair of danner boots, i HIGHLY recommend them. i have a pair of quarry that i use for work. my company gives me a $200 a year boot allowance and i've been trough some boots. red wings are amazing, but danners are top notch.
Was after some advice has anyone got the Danner boots as trying to work out what the UK sizing would be? Returning them from the UK to the USA may prove tricky that's all

What size do you need? My US size 11EE Quarry boots say 10.5 UK on the box.

I take an 8 UK size but not sure on width required. On their website they only have EE width for an 8.5 which I think is the UK 8
While I don't agree on spending $1200 on a CG. I do own one (the citadel). It is around the $700 CAD range. Purchased it a few years back, they were still using more goose down. It is exceptionally warm and comfortable. It will take -30C temps no problem. Similar to Barbour and BR, the build is great. However, I do notice that recent models have more duck down and seems a bit more of a Fad than any.

Hi, I am a 8.5 in cnj and have the Danners in US 9.5 (Equiv to uk 9 on the Danner guide). Bought the D width and they are spot on. They seem to me to run a 1/4 size smaller than the UK suggested. Width wise have medium feet and they are fine. Unless you have super wide feet you wont need EE fit...

Looks like Craig is still wearing the TF scarf from Skyfall. Here he is today in Rome.
Any more pics, hthomas? Hard to tell in the lighting if the hat is brown, gray, or dark olive. Anyone care to make a guess as to the leather jacket?
The hat looks very olive on my screen. I'd love to see Bond in a trilby again, though it probably won't happen. Craig looks pretty good in that hat, though it doesn't go well with such a casual jacket.

I'm still not convinced the jacket in the Daily Mail photos is the Montcler. It looks more black than navy to my eyes.
Blomberg has a story about the companies: "How Wall Street Puffed Up Sales of $800 Down Parkas." http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2014-12-09/behind-the-boom-in-moncler-canada-goose-parkas-wall-street-money

Gawker summarized the articles with their own unique spin. " This Winter's Fad for Dummies: The $1200 Canada Goose Jacket".

Many thanks
These are the 6 inch version
The same as DC wore at the press pics in Austria (may be the 8 inch version) with ankle protection and no USA flag branding...
Unworn and still newly packaged
I have a couple of offers but looking to cover what I paid for boots / tax... £160 PLUS £10 postage within UK
PM me for pics etc
Cheers
M
