Well, as far as I'm concerned Persols are of superior quality - I have both the 2244s and 2720s and I had the 714 in hand - they're fully hand made so they're like a Ferrari 250 GTO - one temple might be 0.4mm longer then the other one, the bridge might be not absolutely 100% straight but they look fantastic - and the arrows are always level, unlike in the Tom Fords it seems. For a 400$ pair of sunglasses one would expect that every pair is flawless, like the Porsche Design sunglasses (lucky owner of a pair here) - every pair is an absolute masterpiece and they cost about the same.

The wide peaked lapel on a single breasted suit with a ticket pocket is more, to my mind, the traditional Tom Ford look - now matched with very narrow trousers. And don't get me started on that collar....
QoS may have been the worst Craig film, but as has been said so many times, DCs suits and general wardrobe haven't been bettered yet.

I don't think we've seen a scene from filming yet, where DC isn't wearing gloves of one sort or another - perhaps he'll keep them on for the bedroom scenes as well!
Annoyingly they definitely look like the Camberley.
I had a pair of those on in black 2 weeks ago and decided they were a bit too similar to my Tetbury's so bought some suede boots instead!!

I really like these boots and I think they're an excellent choice. Boots with a suit brings back Connery's style (though monk straps instead of elastic), and monk shoes were something Brosnan occasionally wore. Connery had a pair of brown single-monk boots in Diamonds Are Forever. It also honour's Fleming's Bond, who abhorred laces. They're dressier than Tetburys and thus better with a suit. They fit in perfectly with Bond's shoe history whilst bringing something new.
And personally I like monk shoes, have 4 pairs, and liked the boots but have too many shoes so their slight comparison to Tetbury gave me an excuse not to buy, now they are in Spectre that excuse has gone, so will be looking for a pair in the Factory shop next weekend again.

ONE exception: Is it just me or is the bottom hem of the jacket a touch short and cut very squarely? Also looks like single vent so I have to deduct a point for that... but overall MILES better than SF in terms of style

You were definitely right about the peaked lapels! But it's not the O'Connor with peaked lapels since the silhouette is completely different. This suit has the Quantun of Solace pagoda shoulders. It gives Daniel a much more powerful look than the narrow Skyfall shoulders.

It's definitely not black. In bright sunlight, black tends to look more brownish or greenish. Bond wears charcoal to funerals in TB and TWINE. Black isn't necessary. Any dark suit is appropriate.

I like collar pins, but it is awful on Bond. It just doesn't fit the character. But it's not far off from the equally awful-for-Bond tab collars in Skyfall, so it wouldn't be unexpected for Bond to wear a collar pin.
