Obviously its hard to tell, but looking at that image the gauge of knit at the collar looks different to that of the body at the chest, which looks finer. That would preclude the N Peal roll neck shown, which seems the same gauge throughout the neck and body.

Even if its unlikely these guys supplied EON, one possible alternative option to a highly expensive N Peal WF 2015 version that might go on sale later in the year is - http://www.northseaclothing.bigcartel.com/product/submariner

I'm not up to speed with posting pics, but you can see what I mean about the difference in neck and body gauge of knit on their grey submariner, versus the N Peal roll neck. Plus a naval style submariner jumper makes perfect sense to Bond's service history.

Must admit I thought the submariner jumper was similar but until now I have only ever seen them in off white I have on from colleague in the Royal Navy very warm but very thick with it! Be warned though when the turtleneck is rolled over it is much thicker than that worn by JB above so I would say it's of a finer weave than the submariner ( still a great warm jumper for the winter though)

I found this from Woolovers not SA I should think but reasonable alternative and I put one on order will let you know when it arrives

    Cheers :007)

Any ideas on the jacket yet? Is it the before mentioned Tom Ford?
  • McQueenMcQueen Posts: 139MI6 Agent
The jacket has an off centre zip which is very on trend at the moment.

I don't think it has any thing to do with being on trend. A perfecto or other similar type of motorcycle jackets uses the same off set zipper design.

So matchless has told me they will be revealing info soon and that their peices will be sold Sepetember 2015. I'm suspecting their blouson is the Dark blue (what was thought to be the Tom ford bomber jacket) jacket we are seeing in the official 007 video where he wears the turtle neck.

    Plenty of information in this thread Swinderman. Take some time and read through it -{

No reason to apologize, I didn't mean for that to come off as rude. There is great information in this thread that members have provided and you may also find other answers that you may have.

Of course. What I mean is other 'non' perfecto/motorcycle jackets are also featuring off centre zips now.

Assuming the jackets worn by Bautista and Craig on page 38 of this thread are Matchless, it looks like they are expanding their line of non-leather/motorcycle wear. Spectre should be great publicity to do that. I'd be interested in the story of who approached whom. I wonder if the jackets will be closer to $500 or $2000.

My bet would be around $700-$1000 since their clothing is around $500 but they'll of course charge a premium for Bond related items.

That would be my best guess as well. There will be a "Bond Premium" with the question being how big will it be.

They do have some expensive leather items I like that are around $1900 or more. But for that price I'd rather do made to measure through Aero or another company.

I have the wool NSC Submariner (and the Expedition) I can attest to the fact that they are extremely robust and hard wearing. They are not soft like Lambswool, they are pretty rugged, much like the old Royal Navy issue Submariner jumper. The cut is fairly slim so buy a size up if you want the spare room. They are cut to a normal length too unlike the issue RN Submariner jumper which is deliberately pretty long to cover your arse when you are bending over. You get what you pay for. These will last forever. I have thrashed mine and its solid and very warm.

It certainly looks like the mid grey one in your picture. I hope it is. Nice bit of Royal Navy heritage.

Although I don't think there is any conformation, over at the MI6 forums there are rumors we may see Craig in a white dinner jacket (a la Connery). Any thoughts on this?

Considering the adventurous wardrobe choices we've seen with the peaked lapels on the suit and collar pin, and the classic Bond cocktail cuffs returning, it wouldn't surprise me for the white dinner jacket to return as well. I hope it does, since we haven't seen it in 30 years.

Rumor is that it will be in the train car scene. I hope it will look like this just with a bigger bow tie.

Tom Ford has done plenty of 'white' dinner jackets before, and there's precedent for them in the Bond canon so I think it would be neat.

I just hope there isn't some stupid aspect added to the jacket to make it more 'contemporary', like double-button enclosure which seem to have been a trend as of late (I didn't suffer through the Oscars this year so I don't know if it's still the case).

What are the chances Bond enters the villain's lair dressed like this:

    image.jpg

... but exits dressed like this, maybe something he's appropriated from a guard as a disguise?

    Wouldn't be the first time....

Could even be a CR/QOS moment where somewhere during the car journey his suit magically transforms from a 3 piece Brioni to a 2 piece Tom Ford.

Sorry to go back to the possibility of the Austria Scene Moncler Jacket conversation. I don't know if anyone noticed but on the actual day the pictures were in the newspapers Moncler run a full page advert in The Times I have never seen them do this before.

Moncler advertise in higher-end magazines all the time, not sure about the Times although it probably fits their demographic. If that's not just a coincidence and Moncler did make the jacket, I would assume/hope that the jacket that DC is wearing will be featured in an upcoming Moncler line and not a past one that's now unavailable.

Thanks "The Domino Effect", the full page was in The Times on a weekday, black and white full page ad very unusual for any clothing retailer

Maybe in QOS it's one of those magical reversible suits like Roger Moore's hang gliding outfit from Live and Let Die.

Now listen closely, 007. Playing with the top button of this 3 roll 2 suit jacket will transform it into a Brioni. Buttoning the bottom button, which you should never do, will change it into a big-shouldered Armani power suit. Oh, and try and not spill any alcohol on it. That will cause it to shrink into an undersized Tom Ford. Any questions?
